I am very please with the product. It works well and is easy to understand. It is perfect for my needs. I needed a second line for my doorbell. I had a separate phone but I would only be able to access my door only on that one phone... you would have to dash to it which was very frustrating. With the new phones, I can answer it from all phones, more conveniently, and no broken hip trying to get to it. The sound quality is not bad and easy to operate. I recommend it. As for battery life... I need to see how it does with time, it's too early to evaluate. PS I do not use all features since I do not need them

I used to have another set of Panasonic cordless 2-line phone, but after 5 years of continual use the "talk" button got so worn off that did not work anymore. I then got another set made by Vtech which had plastic buttons instead of silicon/rubber hoping it will last longer. However, it did not last more than 3 months. The Vtech was so cheap in terms of quality. The plastic case as slim and could break if you drop it. But the worse part was the connector at the bottom of the phone set connecting to the charging station did not last. It was very flimsy and bent all the time. And after a while it broke off.So I found this panasonic cordless 2 - line set. It is actually better and cheaper than the first one I had. The connectors are solid thick metal (not like the aluminum/tin fromVtech). The plastic case is thicker and durable. Even the sound quality and communication is way better than Vtech. I definitely recommend Panasonic phones. I just hope the rubber/silicon button will last long this time. Otherwise a great product at an excellent price.

Phones work great! Had a shipping issue that was unrelated to vendor but they helped make it right.

One of the last portable home phones I could find that you can use a wired ear piece with the mobile handset. Great for me working at my home office. Call display screens are big and easy to read even at a distance. Easily a full day of battery life for the handset. Sound quality is only 4/5 but the signal strength through stucco wire, in the basement, or standing beside the wireless router is still as good as being beside the base unit, so 5/5 on that. Has so many features that the menu system can be a bit complicated, but instruction book is helpful enough. Expandable to multiple handsets. Overall, a very good purchase.

Marc

Panasonic is the only manufacturer still producing a 2 line phone system. I like the fact that it can connect to 12 additional portable phones. I purchased ten of them. I am 80 years of age and managed to set it up and program all the phones without help. The clarity of sound is excellent as well as most of the programmable features. I run a business out of my home and needed the two line phone system. The only problem I have is that I am hearing impaired and wear hearing aids so I am unable to raise the volume to a level that I am comfortable with. A company called clarity makes equipment for the hearing impaired and a special volume adjustable amplifier attached to the base station solved the problem. My previous system was made by Siemens of Germany who were the forerunners of all these home phone systems. After 35 years, it still worked but the screens images no longer functioned and the buttons didn't connect. The technology of course has leaped ahead in milestones and this system is wonderful. I notice that the technology is a few years old and I have a feeling that with land lines disappearing due to cellular systems they will eventually not be needed.

Just what I wanted in a two-line phone system. It has the same setup methods that my old Panasonic phones use, so It was real easy to set up. Also the Bluetooth connection to my cell phone worked perfectly and I was able to download all my phone contacts in just a few seconds. (I have wanted that feature for years now.). For anyone with a hundred or more contacts, this saves hours of tedious data entry. The phone system allows different tones for each line, so I can tell which line the call is coming from. With the answering machine, I can also have seperate messages for each phone line or use one for both. I can also turn either one on or off as required.Night mode allows me to turn off the ring tones when I am sleeping.Very happy with this machine.

I bought this In January, 2014 and just never set it up until last month. Sorry I waited so long. It is terrific!I bought this Panasonic to replace my office phone. I spend a lot of time on the phone, so I use a headset. The phone has a lot of features, but so far I've had no trouble getting use to the way it does things. The phone was easy to set-up and has a "Quick Guide" as well as a comprehensive manual with Operating Instructions. I find the phone's menus easy to follow (even without consulting the manual). I've had similar phones and do all my own computer tech work, so your mileage may vary. There are some features on the phone that absolutely will need the manual to use effectively, because you need to enter codes to access the features and the codes are in the manual. For the most part these are settings that once you set them up, you can forget them. Still, you'll probably want to keep the manual around so you can change the settings in future. There are two kinds of people -- those who won't read the manual and those who eat that stuff for lunch (you know who you are). If you fall in the latter group, like me, then you can download the manual and read it before you buy (I did) and store it on your computer for easy access later.I found the manual useful. One picky thing I noted when reading it -- the instructions have a heading -- like How to do (something) on the handset -- and then do not mention the word "handset" in the body of the instructions. I was confused a few times, because I thought I was reading instructions related to the base unit and then realized that the heading (on the prior page) referred to the handset (or vice versa). Since some of the keys on the base unit are different from the keys on the handset, this confused me until I realized my mistake. (My fault for reading the manual selectively and not cover-to-cover like a novel, but I do think the instructions would be more clear if the word "handset" or "base" were in the body of the instructions more often.) As I said, picky. The phone has a lot of neat features. For example, I have caller id and, after two rings, the phone announces the name of the caller, so I don't have to cross the room to read caller id! A feature I never knew I needed, but now that I have it, don't want to give it up.So far, I haven't used the "link-to-cell" feature, but I do charge my iPhone 5 from the side of this Panasonic phone and that's so convenient. The phone has two separate answering machines -- one for line 1 and another for line 2 -- and you can set-up different custom messages for each one. I use Verizon's voicemail and bought this phone so that I'd have my own answering machine in case Verizon's went down. (This has only happened once in nearly 20 years, but I don't want to miss any calls from my clients.) I haven't had the need to use the phone's answering machines, but I can say the custom greetings were easy to set-up.My conclusion: If you need a 2-line phone with good sound quality, a huge phonebook, and lots of features, consider this phone. Of all the programmable phones I've had, and I've had several over the years, I like this one the best. If you want a dead simple phone, then this may not be for you, but if you're willing to read a little, you'll be rewarded for your effort.
