We had purchased VTech phones some years ago and finally needed to replace. I had purchased these based on the performance of the past phones. These are even better! Large, clear numbers make it easy to see and dial; the flashing light on the top of the phones makes it easy to find them if they aren't in the holders and the display is easily able to be read. They work very well and I'm very glad I purchased VTech brand again.

Most of this phone, I like. The screen is large and easy to read. Reception is clear. There are other pluses.On the negative side. There is no Speed Dial! Who in this century designs a phone with no speed dial. Never envisioned this when I ordered. The size is also a bit large, but not a big issue. Overall, we like the phone. I even added another phone to bring it to 6. You can add phones up to 12 on the system.

Was very upset to find that I paid for a new product and was sent a package that was previously opened. plastic films that usually cover hand sets were not present nor was anything in individual plastic bags. everything was accounted for however just tucked back into a box and shipped to the next unsuspecting buyer.

While we like that phone set, the range is not as large as advertised. When measured from an open window to our unobstructed field, we lose range at about 450 feet. Then the sound gets scratchy and weaker. We downloaded our contact from our cellphone and we used the answering machine. Both performed as advertised. Overall, a good set for the price.

I bought the 5 handset version, fairly easy to set up. Too many bells and whistles for me, but it you like to use your cell phone with your home line, this is for you. I note two problems.One, the top has a light. The light does not light up or blink to indicate you have a message. Not a flaw, the light also lights up when the phone rings, but my older phones would blink when there was a message. I walked in, I could tell from across the room if I have msg. These, not so much. Have to pick up handset and look.And, on one of mine, when I answer by hiitting the spkr button, it does not always work. I may have to press it 2 or 3 times.

I had enough of the endless robocalls to my home. I tried the Federal Do Not Contact List and submitted every offenders number every time to nomorobo.com to no avail. The worst offender was the Administration of Energy Savings, who called 3 and 4 times every day despite my picking up the phone 6 times to tell representatives to not call again. This offender used a new phone number for every call. That meant that the usual phone call blocking method of black listing the offending number would not solve my problem.New equipment was needed and I found these VTech phones that had a white list to identify the people you always want to hear from. These calls are always put through seamlessly. All others are screened. If the screened calls want to contact you they must speak their name and press the key as instructed, then the phone call will be allowed through. On the receiving end, you hear the name announced and can either pick up or let it go to the answer machine as is convenient for you. This has stopped the unwanted calls altogether!The announcement of whose calling can be a bit annoying to hear, but is helpful when you need to determine if it's a call you need to respond to right away. The phone handsets themselves have a bar at the top that lights up when a call is being screened, which I feel is really extraneous. I suppose it keeps you from inadvertently receiving a call by picking up to use the handset while the screening process is in play. There is a jack for a headset. I have purchased a headset, but have not yet tried it. The only real problem is that the phone is supplied with belt clips that are unusable because they were manufactured too short to fit into the holes meant to hold them. This was a feature that I did want to help me be able to chat hands free with the headset while doing chores. Guess I will have to wear an apron with a pocket to hold the phone. Not the ideal.Bottom line: these phones are a godsend. I recommend them highly if you want peace in your home again against obtrusive commercial callers.
