The depth of window/glass/metal door you are going to install to had better less than the depth 0.47", so as to screw in 4 screws from one sides easily.

1. Draw outline on the paper board
Draw the cat door frame on a paper board and cut it down.
Note:
You had better prepare these necessary tools first, pencil, ruller, electric saw, drill, screwdriver, double-side tape.
2. Draw outline on the glass door
Use a pencil draw around the edge of the cut paper on the glass door you want to be fixed to.
Note:
Generally, average installation height is around 10-15 cm from the floor.
3. Drill 4 corners for holes
Drill 4 corners for thorough holes first with an electric drill.
4.Cut out a tunnel hole
First, you'd better drill holes in the corners of the outline. To do this is for cutting out the whole block of tunnel hole with a saw.
5. Drill holes for screws
Mount the cat door with double-side tape to the door. 4 screws have been provided for your use, tighten them with a screwdriver on one sides, it's suitable for glass door.
6. Done
Note:
please take of the height of glass/window/door you install the cat door to, usually, 10-15CM from the floor is ok.

Even with cardboard and tape securing it in place my big male cat cant make it through if its locked.

We have 4 cats - same litter, same age, 1.5yrs. They have had the use of their cat door for about 2 weeks now, and while we like to control that they stay indoors during the night, and use the totally locked setting, they have figured out how to slide the locking mechanism and essentially let themselves out whenever they want... not ideal. I know my cats would likely give 5 stars here, but we would prefer that the locking mechanism was not so easy to paw at.

This is a poorly made product. I'm disappointed because it's been installed now which makes it difficult to switch out for a better one.The weather stripping started coming off within 2 weeks of purchase, and the magnet that keeps it closed started falling out within the same time period. I have glued them both several times now. Right now I taped it in a rush before I left for work, as I saw it had fallen off again.The lock feature is okay, but sometimes slides into lock from my cat walking out the door, so he ends up locking himself out which is not ideal.I would not recommend purchasing this based on my experience with this product.

I put this cat door in my sliding window, so my cats have access to outside sunroom.
