spent about one minute putting a razor sharp edge on it when it arrived. Using it to clean out mortises drilled with my bench drill into western maple. So far its holding it's edge.

handle is comfortable. it'll take a beating. blade is ok. Will take a keen edge, but doesn't stay that way for long. Great for cutting shoulders etc. in framing timber rather than furniture making. Good value, though.
