I've never had very good luck with forstner bits. All of the bits I've ever gotten from the big box store have always produced tearout, even brand new. I'm making a small, sentimental project out of some very old white oak and needed the hole to be absolutely perfect. This bit cut through the oak cleanly with absolutely zero tearout. Incredibly happy with this bit!

I was a little disappointed because it dulled quickly just cutting in pine. Only stayed sharp for three one inch holes. But the size was spot on.

Expected premium performance for the premium price. Worked better after sharpening and hogging out 3/4 of the 2” hole with other (non fisch) bits. Glad I didn’t buy their. Glad I didn’t buy their $350 set.
