This option to get cedar planks water soaked is a great idea. I don't know about you, but sometimes finding a suitable container to use for this can be a pain. Up to two 11 inch planks can fit. There is also a water line for one or two planks. It takes up very little room and recipe selections on included with the insert.Simple and easy! What else could you need?

We like cedar planked salmon and other meats and vegetables. As part of that process, the planks have to be soaked in water or wine or whatever or they'll burn up and also to steam the food with cedar goodness.Previously, that involved a cake pan with 1/2" liquid in it, put the plank or planks in, then find something heavy enough and that can get wet to hold the floating planks under water. Not the most convenient. The Fire & Flavor Tank is! It holds 2 planks 5' x 11" perfectly. It has liquid level markers for either 1 plank or 2. The lid pushes the planks down so they are completely submerged. After soaking, just dump out the liquid and the planks, wipe down the Fire & Flavor Tank and put it in the cupboard, preheat the planks for 10 minutes, grill or bake your food on the planks, then enjoy your cedar planked food. Absolutely brilliant!

Caveat- Does not come with cedar grilling planks! This is a great little device you can store easily with your spare cedar grilling planks. Its a clear plastic tank with easily seen fill lines for one or two store bought standard cedar planks. The ones I had laying around fit perfectly. Attach the plastic feet to the tank, add the cedar planks, fill to the line and close the lid. Its that simple. If you love grilling fish and especially salmon this is an awesome addition to your grilling arsenal. As Spring and Summer comes, who wants to heat up their house with the oven. Grill your fish on a damp cedar plank, let that smoky goodness sink in just a little as is cooks on your grill. Get ready for grilling season, treat yourself to something you never knew you needed, but will find indispensable.

The Fire & Flavor Tank Clear Spill Proof Design with Water Fill Lines Holds up to 2 Cedar Planks for Grilling or Smoking. I really like the idea of these. We have had difficulty soaking cedar planks for years. This is a great solution to the problems we have been having. The price is a little steep for a plastic tank but you are also paying for the idea. It is easy to use. We just put the planks in first and then add the water until it is full. Then all you do is close the lid which keeps the planks submersed. We let our planks soak for about three to four hours. I highly recommend this handy tool if you do a lot of grilling with cedar or other planks.

Three stars for the great idea, but the implementation is lacking. Silly me, didn't even think to review the width of the tank and compare to my boards. All the boards I've ever bought were more or less the same size - several inches too long for this.So I'm down to buying shorter boards, cutting off the ends of the ones I have, or just not using this tank, which seems like a great idea. You'd think they'd make this long enough to handle most board....
