Not really optional, these clamps are a necessity for a track saw. They work with Makita, Festool, and Triton and are superior in many ways. The Makita clamps are inconvenient and slow, the Festool clamps are pricey AND slow. These clamps seem expensive - until you compare them to the overly inflated Festool ones. Their biggest asset is the clamping speed and ease of use. The spacer block on the trigger portion is also removable - making the clamps very versatile for thicker than normal applications - or for attaching a custom spacer block. They are far more versatile than the Festool ones in actual use! Highly recommended, just wish they came with the saw.

I bought this for my 118” Makita track saw track as well as my 55” and 75”. Festool tracks. It works well to secure the tracks to the workpiece in all three. Pricy still cheaper than the festool clamps. but worth the Money. For the price of just one festool clamp I got two of these dewalt clamps.

They do what they have to do.They're not that kind of junk stuff you have to rebuy every week. The material is good and this is also confirmed by the weight of the product. However, for me, the price is a bit high for a couple of "customized" clamps.

These clamps work well with my Dewalt track saw. They add extra assurance that the track won’t move during a cut. The innovative design uses the slot under the track to engage and this feature makes them indispensable and versatile. I’ve used them extensively and I’m glad that I bought them.

I highly recommend these clamps. They work great on my Makita track saw tracks. No Slipping. No clamps to interfere with the saw. They slide right in and clamp with one hand. This is probably the best Dewalt product I have used.

If you're working with perfectly flat/flush materials, then you can probably get away without the clamps (or, if you're exclusively working with the short-track).If your material isnt super flat (i.e., sheathing grade plywood) and you're working with the longer track, it's a huge page to constantly walk back and forth between the two sides, trying to line up your mark -- because it's pivoting about the high point! And if you get lucky and manage to avoid, that, having any high point means that the track has a tendency to pivot/slip during the cut!In either/both cases, these clamps make that problem go away. Well worth the cost and the time to get the clamps setup for every cut.

clamp pads don't stay on seem poorly made. disappointing for a 120 dollar clamp set.

En general bien, pero el único defecto que le veo que es muy fácil perder uno de los tacos ya que no van a presión

I agree with another reviewer, you need these clamps if you use a track-saw track, they are not an optional accessory rather a necessary part of this tool system. These claps are very nice and of heavy construction that should equate to a long life with any luck. They work one-handed and that is a great time saver over the Festool screw track clamps or even their quick clamps that still need two hands to set up most times. And best of all when you pick one up you feel a "TOOL" in your hand, very satisfying, not some flimsy poor excuse of a cheap-o tool that is all too often these days.I use my clamps with a Makita track, a Dewalt Track and a Festool track and for normal track clamping there are no issues with any track I have tried. They work on the same pistol grip idea as the Irwin Clamps but the release is incorporated in the handle a cleaver out of the way design but the first couple of times you have to think or look to find it, but that learned you can clamp and unclamp without looking with one hand, what more can you ask of a clamp. There is a minor clearance issue when using the clamp with the on thin stock, I use this mostly ripping 4x8 sheets 1/2 or 3/4 inches thickness, the knob on the T-Square and the clamp grip contact and it is impossible to use in this configuration without adding a spacer block to lower the clamp handle to allow space for the knob to lock the T-Square to the track. That said, other than the annoyance of having to use the block the clamp works great for this task.{admittedly if it was a nice expensive piece of wood I would be using a block to prevent damage anyway so perhaps I am getting fussy in my old age}Bottom line if you are using a track saw track you should use clamps, these or others, to assure the perfect cut you paid the big bucks for the saw and track to get especially if you are doing a 'scribe cut' to avoid tear out before your final cut you need to be assured the track or stock does not move. Don't penny-pinch on the accessories, get some clamps and you will not have to worry about track slippage, any clamps you should have, but these DeWalt clamp are the best.Loosen the wallet clamps and get some track clamps today!
