My wife just loves it. Well, we all like it very much. It is really easy to make and taste itself is very good, but it is plain, so, you can add whatever you want: honey, jam, fruits, seeds, nuts, even ketchup (well, I did not try it but you can :) ).One thing you need to know: you need yogurt maker to deal with this.

I've used this yogourt starter kit for over 2 years... We eat a LOT of yogourt. I make it at home and at the cottage. At home, I have the fancy yogourt maker. At the cottage, I use an insta-pot. Still, I get the same results, but I did have to experiment a bit at the start. The instructions say 8 hours. For us, well, it's 14, to get the texture that we want. Perhaps it's the milk that we use? It's 1%. Also, I first *gently* boil my milk for about 20 minutes, then cool the milk down (soaking the pot into cold water) to the proper temperature. Then, I simply (slowly) sprinkle the powder onto the milk and give it a small stir, so that it is evenly mixed in. We like our yogourt really thick, so we use a greek yogourt strainer at home and a regular strainer lined with coffee filter at the cottage. Occasionally, I add left over yogourt - not necessary but at least it doesn't go to waste. So, if it doesn't work the first time, consider boiling the milk and consider extending the incubation time. Happy yogourting! :-)

It is a really good culture you can use to ferment your own yogurt. I bought a yogurt machine on amazon too. I resolve one packet of the culture into one liter of milk and stir evenly. then I distribute these milk into seven glasses of bottles and begin to ferment. after one night, there will be good home-made yogurt you can enjoy. and the product is packaged into small packets, you can use one packets each time, which is easy and convenient. And you can add your favourite fruit chunk on the yogurt to indulge yourself at Friday night!

I followed the instructions and it just never sets for me. Wasted 2 gallons of milk on it.

Love tge flavour. Love the texture. But be warned. I make labneh (yoghurt cream cheese) with a Greek yogurt maker using 10% or 18% cream and like the flavour strong. Thus, I go 11 hours in the yoghurt maker then strain the labneh so it can be used as a spread (on pita bread with olive oil and mint is good but there are many ways, with smoked salmon etc.). I would use the old instructions though. Heat to 180, reduce heat to only 90 rather than 77 if you are having problems getting your yoghurt to set up. Oh yeah, and I never premix in just a little milk or cream... Just pour in the powder and use a hand blender.

Made our first batch of yogurt with this item. Easy to use and the yogurt turned out great. Now I don’t have to wonder if the local store has it stock when I need it.

The probiotic yogurt starter works well, but it is important to read the instructions, as it is not used exactly in the same manner as the non-probiotic starter from the same brand. The instructions call for an incubation at lower temperature first, and then light heating for a bit longer. Although the instructions recommend the use of a special yogurt-maker that gradually increases the incubation temperature, it is possible to use 'the old model' by incubating (i) first in a yogurt maker lined with a thick towel and slightly open overnight (so that the perceived temperature is lower), and (ii) then incubate directly in the yogurt maker (no towel, closed top) for a few more hours. This way, the yogurt has the correct consistency.
