I was looking forever for a cat door that would fit into a sliding window but there are no models I could find. So I settled on this and decided to insulate around the open window. As far as ideas goes, this worked out great. The cat door feels solid and holds in place very well. The swinging door is very firm. My cat doesn't so much enjoy having to push so hard with his head to get in or out but because he wants what he wants he suffers through the indignity. The door also swings closed very fast and firmly, which is great for keeping the cold or bugs out. I was worried about maybe skunks or racoons figuring it out but the door needs a determined push and closes with a snap so likely a wild animal won't want to test it out. There is a bit of weather stripping around the sides of the swinging door, resembling hair, which does not keep the cold out as effectively as I would like. When I put my hand up to it (not on it) I can feel the temperature difference. However the room doesn't feel any colder so I'm going with it. I've attached a picture so you can see the weatherstipping is a bit lacking.Edited to add that the weather stripping had indeed fallen off quickly. I have glued them back on twice now.

its all nice to install and it looks good, almost perfect but when cats just learn how to use it they sometimes get their paw stuck in it! Saw it happening couple times, they try to push the door, it opens up and falls back on the paw, cat tries to pull back and his paw gets stuck between the frame and the bottom of the door. Poor thing hisses and sometimes pulls it out or kicks the door open to get himself free. It's OK once they get used to it after a week or so, but still there must be a way to make it safer.Other than that have no complaints.

I have two five month old kittens and a senior 10lb male cat. We had it installed in the kitchen door that leads to the porch as the litter box is on the porch. We are not using it for an outdoor door, but due to the porch being chilly in the winter, we wanted a good seal so the kitchen wouldn't get drafty. Had a little education session showing them how to use it and it only took half an hour before both kittens were able to push the door open with no difficulties, both ways. Our senior cat was able to use it no problems as well, even with being a big boy. Keep the settings in the unlocked position if you are using it inside your home between rooms, as we are, and I think you'll be as pleased as we are.

Bought this for an outside door. It keeps the draft out which was the main reason for its purchase.

3rd buy.. we have them now installed in garage to outdoors..(photo attached).. from inner garage to house.. from basement to laundry room where litter box is behind closed door. Excellent doors. Allows cats freedom to go in and out and for litter box area keeps odor out from family room area. Have been buying size large but think I'll replace the outdoor one with an xl this summer. Great flap has weatherproof strip ao door stays closed and snow doesnt come in nor does wind in winter push door open so cats can go in garage to warm up or dry off if need be or simply go in house as stated if we are away. Highly recommend these along with other cat feeders etc.

Sturdy, good aesthetic, and good value. The lock function is SLIGHTLY finicky. Easy to install.

This door works, but could be better. The transparent door scratches easily. It shows scratches if you rub your finger on it.There are magnets that hold the door in the closed position, which is good if it's windy outside, the door won't blow open. The problem is the magnets hold the door in a position slightly off where it needs to be to slide both locks in place. It works for one lock, but to engage the other one, I need to pull the door towards me first.

Very easy to install. You’ll need a level, 3/8” drill for the corners and a jig saw to cut hole. Took me a half hour. Looks great and is lockable which is nice. Very nice product.

We just installed this cat door to our basement and we are very satisfied with our purchase. The door was actually easy to install and the direction were very clear and made it a simple process. We choose to remove the door flap off until the cats get use to using the door. The door is larger then I expected and gave plenty of room for our 2 cats to go in and out of. One of the reasons I choose this door was because you could actually lock it, so if you have people over and you want the cats to stay in one area you can just lock it for that period of time. I also appreciated that this company thought of the ascetics of the door. It looks clean and simple on our white door and they also include these little caps so you don't see where the screws are. Out cats started using it right away and its made our life so much easier! I am very happy with this purchase.

Relatively easy to install, looks good, cat loves the clear window and it works pretty well. Unfortunately, although there is a brush seal it doesn't go all the way around the flap so it is quite drafty. Our main issue is the 4-way locking mechanism which is really awkward to use and clearly doesnt work the way it's supposed to as the only way we can lock it both ways is to open the door and push the flap from outside into the exact position where the 2 locks can be slid across. So we will probably put up with it for a bit and then get a new one when it gets too frustrating!
