Product Description

Power problems—including blackouts, brownouts, power surges and line noise— threaten your investment! INTERNET750U Runtime Chart
Reliable Battery Backup

UPS battery backup support enables you to work through short power failures, and provides time to save files and perform an orderly system shutdown in case of a prolonged blackout. The INTERNET750U features an internal battery that provides 2.5 min. of battery support for a full load (450 watts), 11 min. for a half-load (225 watts) or 45 min. for a basic desktop PC. During normal operation, incoming utility power keeps the UPS battery fully charged so that backup power will always be available when needed.

Surge Suppression

A sudden power surge or spike can damage or destroy electronic components and wipe out irreplaceable data. The INTERNET750U features built-in surge suppression to protect all connected components and the data they contain.

EMI/RFI Line Noise Filtering

Various electromagnetic and radio sources can cause disruptive interference on the AC line. This line noise is a common cause of incremental hardware damage, data corruption and audio/video performance problems. The INTERNET750U incorporates technology that filters out disruptive line noise, preventing it from affecting your equipment.

Data Line Protection

The INTERNET750U includes one set of tel/DSL (RJ11) jacks to protect a standard telephone, fax, dialup modem or DSL connection.

USB Port and Free PowerAlert Software

I bought three of these units. They all work. However:1) The Tripp Lite INTERNET750U does not support Windows USB HID device monitoring, despite Tripp Lite's claim that it does. From the included screenshot of the INTERNET750U datasheet PDF retrieved directly from Tripp Lite's website: "HID-compliant USB also enables integration with built-in power management and auto shutdown features of Windows and Mac OS X". False advertising.2) Tripp Lite customer support was very hard to reach to confirm that Tripp Lite has falsely claimed USB HID support in Windows. For example, the support department chat was often offline during the business hours posted next to the support chat button (see the included screenshot for proof).3) Tripp Lite customer support via chat provided a terse response to my question and disconnected within seconds of providing confirmation that the unit does not support USB HID. Customer support placed the onus on Microsoft to create a USB HID driver for these units, and caused the chat window to clear the record of our exchange by disconnecting so quickly.4) The PowerAlert software is not included in the box and not listed in the software downloads on Tripp Lite's support page for the INTERNET750U, making the software unnecessarily difficult to track down.5) The PowerAlert software only offers a web interface for management of the UPS, which increases the security footprint of the system running the monitoring software for the INTERNET750U. No option for local-only monitoring is available. To monitor the unit, consumers must install the PowerAlert web server, create and maintain login credentials that are separate from Windows, and ensure that firewall rules are appropriate and maintained.6) The INTERNET750U may not be appropriate for higher end equipment. My workstation laptop dock loses power for a fraction of a second when the UPS battery engages, causing my ethernet connection to reset and my open remote consoles to be disconnected. Fortunately, my workstation laptop prevents loss of local work. Desktop computer users may want to steer clear.Due to the deficiencies in the design, operation, and support of these units, I will re-task these units to non-essential equipment. Buyers might consider spending a few dollars more on UPS units from brands with more thorough designs and support. In summary, Tripp Lite lost stars for false advertising, poor design and operation of the unit, and poor support. Disappointing considering this is a subsidiary of Eaton.

I've had this UPS for about 3 years now, and it's still running. I've so far had to replace the battery once but that's not unusual after 3 years. It's a UPS, it works well... I use it with my NAS (home-built system running FreeNAS), it keeps it alive during brief flickers. Since it's hooked up with a USB cable, I can have the NAS safely shut down after 30 seconds without power, and then it will automatically turn the UPS off afterwards... Neat! There are 2 cons that are the reason I rate it 4 instead of 5 stars:1: The battery is replaceable, but there is no battery access door. You have to disassemble the unit to replace the battery.2: The telephone surge protector. Despite what the description says, I would NOT use it for the DSL modem! This created hard-to-track-down issues that occurred when the phone was ringing. I connected the modem through the surge protector a long time ago and forgot about it, and proceeded to do other troubleshooting steps up to and including replacing the whole-house filter, and even running new wiring to the DSL jack. All this could have been avoided if I eliminated the UPS surge protector from the line. The seller should remove the recommendation to use this unit for DSL from the description to save people the trouble!

The thought of losing power or brown-out is horrifying. Such a simple way to protect your electrical devices.and get enormous peace of mind.

I purchased this to keep my home network gear online during an outage and to properly shut down some of my devices that don't fare well to hard power loss. The good news is most of my network gear remains on with the exception of my Netgear CM600 cable modem which often locks up or if lucky just reboots upon switching to battery power. I picked this unit because it supports the NUT package which is supported by pfsense. The other bad news is Tripp lite is somewhat lazy about model identification and because of that NUT can't properly identify what load capacity this thing has and reports the current load inaccurately since the driver is unable to distinguish the 180va model from the 750 or any other in that series.Fortunately the above shouldn't affect it powering off my sg-2440 or my rpi3. Overall I probably can't fault it for my cable modem being oversensitive to microsecond power losses but I wish the load monitoring with nut actually worked with this device. because of that, I'd give this a 3.5-star rating if I could but since I can't I'll have to round down.

Disappointing. Lasted less than the 3 year warranty period. Returned from overseas to find it had died many months earlier. Will try another brand.
