Very easy to install (takes me about 1-2 minutes), excellent quality, sleek and silent, adaptive to most cars. Needs headrests though, check if your headrests go up in the backseat (for instance, headrests do not go up in our GMC Jimmy int eh backseat); I use it in my Toyota Highlander, works perfectly. Takes very little room, but solid at the same time, I am very pleased with the product. The only down side is the price, but I do not regret it, it's worth every dime. Got this mostly for safety concerns, so that in the case of an accident, dog stays in the back. Keeps him from licking the passengers in the back too... but he's still happy.

Highly recommend this for a small SUV to stop your dog from running all over the car. I have a 2018 Honda CRV - I took off the 3rd row and it fit great - still some room at the top but my dog (70 lbs Weim) can't fit up there. I only gave a 4 star for sturdiness as the side bars are made of aluminum that is delicate and bends easily. My dog shoves his face in between the back windows and the head rest (where these bars go) and he bends them. I shortened them so they don't touch the window and fixed the bend in the bar (easy to fix). Very easy to install and take off if required - simply unscrew 2 "bolts" and its removable. I was hesitant on spending the money (I paid 250$ for this) but it was worth it!! Saves my car and it is safer having the dog in the back too - a lot less stressful of a car ride! My brother in law bought this so he recommended it. I highly recommend it too - hopefully they make it cheaper.

Update 2017/12/17 - This product is garbage. The telescoping rods are apparently flimsy and easy to bend when extended, so my 3yo lab simply placed his head under the bottom rod and bent it out of the way to escape from the cargo area. Came back after a 5-minute stop to find him in the front seat, with a big gouge in my leather upholstery from his claws.-- original review --This product is.... awkward. It is great in a number of ways -- it's easy to install in virtually any vehicle, and does the job it's meant to do. But the mounting angle is not adjustable. So with the rear seats very slightly reclined (which is more comfortable for rear passengers), the barrier is also "reclined" on an angle, which looks a bit strange. Similarly, the barrier sits on an angle left-to-right -- my Mitsu Outlander has a seatbelt "spool" (retractor?) mounted on top, and to the left, of the rear center seat. This raises the height of the barrier on the left, and the right-hand side doesn't have enough "grip" on the headrest to keep it elevated so that the barrier sits level. That said, it does what it's intended to do and its design makes it adaptable to almost any vehicle -- it just looks a bit funny sitting off-kilter on two axes.

I found it by fluke online and really loved the idea of it attaching to the headrests so that you don't have the long poles in the back (or the pressure fitting pushing your roof out of whack). I have an Elantra Touring so I don't have a huge amount of space in the back to begin with; losing some to the legs was brutal.Negative first (because nothing is perfect!):- The brackets that hold the barrier to your headrests. Why: They are made well, and I have no problem with the metal. My problem is the fasteners themselves. They are a bolt with a knob on one end and a rubber foot (I'm assuming so they hold better?). The problem is with the gold bracket-type piece that the screw goes through. When I first tightened them they gold piece popped right out, and then you can't get the screw tight and the whole barrier comes off. Luckily for me, my husband was able to get the bracket-type piece back in place and get it to stay. After that: perfect! So it may have just been a flaw in the one I got?Now the positives:- Inexpensive- Super easy to install once the brackets are fixed- Doesn't rattle (and I drive gravel roads)- Nice, light weight material while still not feeling "cheap"- Doesn't take up a ton of room in the back with legs- Looks nice for the price. It doesn't look or feel "cheap"For some of you who may have read the Amazon.com reviews I can't say anything to how it would hold a dog in the back. I do travel with my dogs but they ride in the backseat strapped into a Kurgo. All my gear (crates, canopies, etc) go in the back. I use the barrier to keep my stuff safe in the back so if I have to brake suddenly it doesn't come flying into the front, or into the dogs. So I can not review if it is easy to get through for small dogs, or easy to push down by big dogs. I do know, though, that my dogs could have easily pushed down the barrier I used before and that (once or twice) I pushed it down myself by hitting the legs with crates or suitcases.Happy shopping!

After trying a few different products I finally found this one that works perfectly! Super easy to install and seems to be very durable. Keeps our dog safe in the back. This barrier is very quiet at well - no noise from rattling. Very happy with this purchase!

The size was perfect for my 2013 Santa Fe and it works very well, but I wish it was less noisy (rattles on uneven roads, even after re-tightening the adjustable silver pole fasteners.)

Perfekt!

Did loads of research before finding this one, and am very pleased. All the others looked cheap, and wasn't convinced they would last long, but this one looks very well made. Fixed securely to the headrests behind the front seats, so the dogs have plenty of room in the back with the rear seats down. Easy to adjust the width and the top bar can be adjusted to make it overall higher or lower. Would definitely recommend despite being more expensive than many of the others

This dog barrier is awesome! It has strong metal construction and easily holds my 3 70lb+ dogs well in the back of my MDX. As long as your car has adjustable headrests you can use this product. It comes fully assembled and takes about 2 minutes to install. There is no creaking whatsoever as long as you tighten everything up.It should be noted the pictures for this product are pretty bad, and I could not find any other pictures other than stock photos on the internet. This dog barrier could probably (emphasize PROBABLY, take measurements first) be used on any car that has a 5th door and not a trunk. When it is in it's fully collapsed state the barrier is relatively small and could fit in a smaller vehicle such as a Honda Fit as well as working perfectly for large SUV's, this versatility makes it worth a lot more in my opinion. Add on to that it takes all of a minute to take it down and put it back up in another car if need be makes this product a great value. I am really glad I trusted the reviews and got this product, I am extremely pleased with the quality.
