Use this 12v cooler/warmer to keep food and beverages cool without messy ice, or keep them warm instead. Its 14 Liter capacity holds up to 12 soda cans, and even standard size water bottles fit inside too. Safely pack healthy snacks like fruit, yogurt and sandwiches. Simply place the cooler either on the floor of your vehicle, or directly on the seat secured with a seat belt. Then plug the 12v adapter into your vehicle's 12v DC outlet and slide the switch on the back of the cooler to either hot or cold. If hot setting is selected, the interior stays warm and heats up to a maximum of 140 Degree; for cold setting, the interior stays cool and reaches a maximum of 32 Degree-36 Degree F below room temperature. For optimal cooling, pre chill items in the refrigerator to assist the unit to reach the lowest temperature as quickly as possible. Anything left inside the unit will stay cool for some time after the unit has been disconnected from 12v DC outlet or turned off. However, internal temperature will equalize to external surrounding temperature over time. A hot/cold/off switch has indicator lights for quickly viewing which temperature mode is in use. Its extra long 9 foot DC power cord extends to your vehicle's back seat area, so it can be easily accessible for anyone riding in your vehicle. The built-in shoulder strap allows for easy transport so you can easily take it anywhere you go. Power consumption is 48 watts. It also has a built-in fan and 10A fused plug. An optional AC adapter accessory is available (Wagan item 9903) for additional use in the home, office or hotel (sold separately).

I got this to replace a similar one I've had for about a decade (that one didn't break until it was inadvertently pushed off a shelf onto concrete). As with that one, this works perfectly well as long as you understand how they work.There is no internal fan to circulate air - there is a metal plate that gets cold or warm depending on which way you flip the power switch. If you put things in that are relatively insulated (things in cardboard, etc) or that barely touch the bottom metal plate, they will take forever to cool down (or heat up) because the heat transfer is from conduction (touching) and not convection (air movement). Juice bags that lay flat on the bottom cool down really quickly. Soda cans don't cool down as fast because not a lot of the can actually is in contact with the bottom.So: you generally want things that have flat surfaces to touch the bottom (and that aren't insulating), or... you just need to put things in that are already cold (or hot).Aside from that boring lesson on heat transfer, I wanted to add that this Cooler/Warmer is very well made given the price point, and I expect it to work as long as the one I bumped off the shelf. It has a good capacity, and it'll hold drinks and sandwiches on trips, which is exactly what I'm getting it for, and it'll also keep hot food hot (well... quite warm at least) if that's what you want instead.The included strap works fine, but this will always be a bit awkward to carry.If you have an area between your seats to set it, the cup holders on the front are nice, but if, like me, you don't, well... they're fine, just not really as necessary. You need a decent amount of room for it if you put it behind a car seat (seat in a car, not child car seat), because the lid hinges open, so you might be able to fit it, say, behind a passenger seat, but not be able to open it en route because the lid hits the back of the seat in front of it.Sound-wise, it is about as loud as a fairly quiet room fan. It's not noticeable in the car, and it won't keep you awake in a hotel room - if you get the 120v to 12v adapter (and I highly recommend that you do - among other things, you can pre-pack the night before and leave it plugged in to keep things at temp, and then you can also use it in your hotel room on the way).

We grabbed this before a 10 hour roadtrip with a toddler and it was perfect! It holds just enough to feed us all day. The cooler is designed very sturdy and fit on the floor behind the passenger seat so I could reach things as needed. It kept everything nice and cold and cooled quickly. It’s actually perfect for everyday adventures too. Sometimes I just throw a small ice pack in if the car will be off for more than an hour to keep things cold until the car starts again. The cord is nice and long also. If you can’t find it, it has it’s own storage compartment on top :)

La venimos estrenando. Hemos tomado la precaución de desconectarla cada que vamos a apagar la camioneta.Cupo perfecto entre los dos carseats.Enfría de maravilla (no he probado el calentón). Mi hija va abriendo y sacando sus jugos con singular alegría.Venía con un fusible extra. Mi esposo verá si puede conseguir algún otro (por si un día se me olvida desconectarla antes de apagar la camioneta.Primer uso y súper recomiendo! Espero dure…
