First thing's first, take the instructions, crumple them into a nice round ball and toss them into the garbage. Now that we've got that out of the way, it's time to put this beast together (OUTSIDE - it's probably 9 ft tall!).Some of the bolts are going to be ever so slightly too short. I opted to just add a lock washer and no flat washer on 2/3 of the top bolts. One I got lucky and managed to get them both on. It took a lot of force to squeeze the lock washer down. Wasn't worth doing it for all 3 (unless it comes crashing down on us one day, in which case I'll be sure to update my amazon review from the ambulance). The curved parts are hard to identify.Part C has 2 wide ends (no taper). Easy to spot. Move them aside.Parts A and B look basically the same in the instructions, and it's very unclear which is which. I eventually figured out that you should attach only one at the top. The instructions might show this. Who knows. Very unclear. They show it done in 4 steps. Pro tip: it's a lot more than 4 steps. At the top, I put the large end with one screw hole and attached it. It seems to be what they wanted, since the single hole didn't line up when trying to use it as the middle part of the bar. If you try to put 3 bolts through the very top holes (when installed) you're going to have a bad time. If both should be attached, well then you're going to need longer bolts, and you're going to need to drill holes. Just one should be attached, since there is only one screw hole.If the holes don't line up, you're putting it together wrong! The part with the single hole goes at the top. Hex head goes into the hex shaped hole. You get it. Kindergarten level stuff. The instructions seem to show you to do the opposite of what you need to do. What I did: put a bolt in (hex head in hex shaped hole) then a lock washer, then a flat washer, then a nut to finish it off. Don't tighten them all the way until you're done.Don't put the bolts etc in on the feet until you have the strap on all 3. It will be SNUG. I tightened them then had to loosen them, get the strap on, then put it back together. In doing so, 2/3 of those top nuts popped off. They say not to tighten any of them, but you should tighten those ones all the way. They're very short and this'll strip the ends. Oops. Still worked with just a lock washer tho, so all good.My wrench set didn't have a 13mm (required) so I opted for a 13mm socket + ratchet and adjustable wrench. It worked just fine. This thing is SOLID. The little flimsy disposable wrench they provide is the wrong size on both ends. Nice thought, but very pointless. Also, you need 2 wrenches. One to hold the bolt still while you tighten the but on the other side. One little wrench would do nothing. Very odd to include it. Especially because it's the wrong size. All in all, bad instructions, I've been worst, but I can't stand my time being wasted. The product itself came rusty, as if it was sitting in a damp warehouse for a long time? Or was used? Not sure... But it's sturdy and I'm confident it will last a long time. Removed a star for the bad instructions, the rust that came on it and the fact that yes, the bolts could be 5mm longer. It'd make the world of difference for those 3 bolts at the top. (I see people saying 6 - did they drill new holes? Tsk tsk, sounds like they just put it together wrong lol). Still a buy at $217 CAD.It's never worth $500 CAD. Just not that level of hardware honestly.

This tripod has proven to be pretty sturdy for our energized 7-yr old. HOWEVER I had to make some adjustments. I purchased some longer and more solid ground stakes as the ones that came with it were inferior and bended easily. Also, the bolts provided were not long enough for the top section and I had to purchase 6 that were 1/2" longer. Only with these adjustments has it remained grounded.

After looking for a while for a good solution like this, I settled on this model and haven’t been disappointed. I did replace all of the bolts with some black oxide ones and nylock nuts, this was more for aesthetics than anything (as noted by others, the top bolts are too short, so I needed to get some hardware anyway)This stand is tall, I was only able to test assemble it indoors because of the tall ceilings in the room, it won’t fit a standard 8’ ceiling. This thing is strong! I had two grown men hanging on the sides with no worries. I have issues with our swing no matter who is using it.We got this to be portable, it will actually pack into a duffle (had to look for a big one) but it is a two person carry due to the size and weight. It isn’t the cheapest setup, but the best way I have found to have a strong, tall, and portable swing chair stand.
