I absolutely love this lens. And being less than half the cost of the Fujinon equivalent, it has amazing price to performance. The AF is snappy and quiet, the 1.4 gives stunning Bokeh, and the all metal build at this price point is the cherry on top.I do want to note that I compared my version to an identical one my friend has, and mine was a little harder to twist on vs his. Otherwise no difference in performance.One of the nitpicks I saw on other reviews was the stepless aperture ring. After having used it, I found the aperture ring actually has enough resistance in that I never accidentally moved it off of my setting. So no worries there, imoIf you’re in the market for a lens of this focal length, I’d say it’s a no brainer. Plus it’s actually quite versatile and can do more than just portrait.

First, the seller was really helpful and there was no problem receiving the lens from Hong Kong (received in 5 business days).The lens... I cannot believe this lens is only $460 CAD. It feels solid and focus is fast. And the images are Sharp!I will purchase more Viltrox prime lenses in near future.-Update-I tried to update the firmware and realized the usb connector was not working. I contacted Viltrox and they were so helpful. I returned mine and received the replacement within 2 weeks. My second copy is even better than the first one. It is sharp and fast. To me, Viltrox customer service is better than Fuji's that I have experienced. Thank you, Viltrox!

Great lens for a great price. Autofocus isn't slow (nor fast) but definitely quick enough on my X-S10. Really good build quality and the lens came with the latest firmware listed on the Viltrox website. My only gripe is the clickless aperture ring but at least it has one. Images could be a tad sharper (it's only ever so slightly softer than the Fuji 56 or Sigma 56) but given it's a portrait lens, pictures are more flattering when they're slightly softer. It's still a sharp lens overall and I would recommend it to others.

I am not a professional Photographer, and I have not had a chance to test the lens.First impressions:Came with latest firmware installed, easy to update firmware if needed.Build quality was excellent, feels very solid, all metal construction.Tested on my X-T1 seems to focus very fast. The narrow depth of field when shooting a F1.4 is amazing especially when focusing on a nearby item, Min focus distance is 60 cm.May update once I have had a chance to test it.

I like the quiet and fast auto-focus. Image quality is better than expected for a lens at this price point. The only issue is chromatic aberrations when the lens is shot wide open but that is fixable in post.

I am blown away by the quality of this lens. It is solidly built, came nicely packaged, and has great optics. The autofocus is fast, quiet, and effective, and the color rendering is right on. It's worth every penny of the asking price, for sure!Update: It keeps getting better. This lens is going to spend a lot of time on my X-T2.

I didnt want to spend too much on Fujinon Lens but this one works for now, It’s beautiful! It’s AF is really fast and responsive, better than the kit lens in my opinion. For the price, it’s very much worth it.
