Compared to other adapters that advertise charging while having another thing plugged in, this is the best for not having to sacrifice charging time about it.I've had plenty of similar adapters for when my headphones and phone have a "need to charge" overlap and they all made my charging speed 400% slower. If you need to do a lot of moving files around between devices because one of them is old and the battery is practically on life support, having an adapter that bottlenecks the power is liable to end up corrupting the files you're trying to salvage. Or even more often, those other adapters just made my phones and tablets unable to detect connected USB storage devices like flash drives.In my testing I found that the audio quality of media and recording from the in-line microphone on my original Skullcandy Hesh 2 auxiliary cord using a UGREEN auxiliary to C adapter (with no charging system built in) was unaffected by the addition of this adapter. The USB A to C adapter that came with my Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and my SanDisk UltraFit 512GB flash drive transferred data at the same speeds.When not charging, the adapter should be unplugged as it will drain power from the device. Exactly how much, I'm not going to bother to test since the solution is just unplugging it.

Splitter works fine with Android devices. I tested with both S22 ultra and S24 ultra. Both the devices recognize SSD, audio and chargers connected either individually or together.Charging port is exclusively for chargers alone. So if your device is not charging, make sure the correct port is selected for your charging cable. However,the other port can do reverse charging.With iPhone it's a different story. I tested with iPhone 16Pro max. It recognized both SSD and audio when connected to the respective port. But with a charger connected, it's a hit or a miss. The device recognized SSD and audio without any issues. However, when connecting a charger simultaneously, the device might not charge. Even with just the charger connected, the device still wont charge. I tried turning over the splitter and reconnected the devices and it recognized SSD and charged the device as well. So, iPhone users may have to do a little work around if your device is not charging. Try turning over the splitter and connect the charger first and data port next or the other way around. But when it works, it does perfectly. Audio device is recognized by iOS while connecting and it prompts you to select as headphone. SSD works in its full read/write speed (with the correct cable).Leaving 4 stars as iPhone user just for the reliability in using 2 devices simultaneously. Otherwise for Android users it's a 5/5.Note: This device DOESN'T support Display over USB C. Keep that in mind.I suggest connecting a high speed USB C cable for data transmission. It might be your cable at fault and not the splitter.

So far this is a really good splitter. You used have to turn Bluetooth off before plugging it in then back on if using Bluetooth headphones to listen to USB music with this.

I bought this so my iPad would stop powering MIDI devices plugged into it. Tried several things, and this is the only one that will allow me to use LoopyPro (if you know you know) without having to worry about my iPad's battery dying. Well worth the price. I spent $100 on an Anker product and it didn't do that very basic thing.

Aluminum quality construction. Reliably does the job. USBC power input and USBC audio output without signal artifacts. Fed the USBC audio output to a USBC to toslink converter, ran the optical to my hi-end DAC, and turned my old smartphone into a dedicated streamer. Recommended product.
