This antenna works well with my analog Bearcat scanner. I get reception up to about 35 miles and is improvement over the little stock rubber ducky. Reception for various bands can be improve by shortening (UHF) or lengthening (VHF) the telescopic antenna. Be warned though it is very long when extended so need to handle carefully if moving radio around and I suspect it could be stressful on the connection. Overall though I am satisfied.
