These are quite effective little smartphone stands for use on a table or other mounting point. Because of the way the mounting spring works, you could theoretically attach it to something as little as 2mm thick, or up to 40mm thick. That said, surfaces that are flat on all sides will work best. Any curves, diagonals, or other irregularities might make it less stable or even impossible to mount.Both the rotation and the tilt points have ratchet joints, so they are pretty strong and secure, but because they are ratchets there is a limited number of positions you'll be able to put them in. For use on an airplane or similar situation, it should be perfectly adequate.There are a couple of caveats, however. First, the springs remind me of the smartphone mounts you'll find at any 100-yen store. They creak and squeak and make a lot of noise every time you open them to attach or remove a phone or put the stand on or take it off a table.Second, while the inner part of the tabletop mount is made of metal, the same part for the smartphone mount is made of plastic. So that part will not be as strong as the base. Otherwise, except for the springs and screws, it all appears to be plastic, though the outer plastic seems to be fairly good quality.Finally, I found while these work fine with a bare phone or simple back case, they are more difficult to use with wallet-style cases, and in some cases may not work at all, without removing from the case. That's because there is a limit to how far the springs will extend, and there is no way to adjust their tension to avoid squeezing the case as much as they do a bare phone.Ideally, I'd prefer to see a similar stand with an adjustable clamp that can be tightened or loosened via a knob to accommodate a wider variety of phone cases or bodies. But as it is, it works well enough that I think it's still quite useful, even if the opening/closing noise is annoying.Some additional minor notes--the dimensions I measured were slightly larger than those shown in the product listing photos. In addition, the rotation mechanisms and angles are not really clear from the photos. However, overall, it's a very nice, compact, easy-to-use tabletop clamp stand for smartphones or other small devices.

サクッと手元での作業過程を動画に撮りたい時、テーブルや机などにカンタン設置で楽に好きなポジションに固定出来るので非常に使い勝手が良い！！インスタなどにあげる動画をカンタンにスマホで撮れるので重宝してます！！2個あるので作業台とカウンターに一つずつ置いておき、使う時に取り出して設置。都度設置も面倒じゃないので出しっぱなしにしなくてすむのがありがたいです！
