I used a set of these to hold up a tarp in our backyard. Despite there being quite a lot of variable wind over the next few weeks, these poles remained upright. That said, if you are relying on these for an extended period of time as part of a shelter construction, I might consider something else. These are really only good for light/occasional use.

I ordered these poles, they seem good so far. I paid the extra money to have lines and pegs included but alas no lines or pegs. I really needed the lines, poles won't stand without lines, now what? Grrr.

The CAMULAND Heavy Duty Tarp Poles Canopy Poles are a light and flexible addition to your camping supplies. They pack two in a 34” cloth carry bag that has a nice handle. There are four telescopic sections that can extend to 101”. Keep in mind at that length of extension there in minimal overlap between the telescopic sections which makes them more prone to flexing. That is likely why they only recommend 98” which is still very tall.Extended to a reasonable length they are quite strong. They are much stronger axially than they are side loaded. This is fine for the intended applications. Each telescopic section is easily locked or unlocked by twisting that section. The bottom of the pole has a cone to stop it from slipping across the ground. It seems to work fine on grass, but I will need to see how well it does on harder packed ground/rocks. The top of the pole has a silicone boot over a pin that can fit through a tent or awning grommet. The silicone boot has a large dome so it can support the middle of a tarp without the risk of puncturing it.I tried it on my tent door that doubles as an awning. You need guy wires to keep them from tipping over. They provide two slots to tie a rope to at the top of the pole. Guy wires are not included so I would recommend having some rope and a few tent pegs handy at minimum.I often avoid using tarps when camping, mostly because there are never enough trees to easily set one up. I am looking forward using these poles to either support a corner of the tarp or raise the center of the tarp. These will make a tarp setup much easier. These are a well-made and well thought out product.

These poles do quick work for providing support of cover/netting! If you need some good temporary support for covers such as tarps, garden nettings or camping needs then these are it. These poles are price competitively with similar products. The poles are very lightweight with telescopic sections that have twist locks. I really liked the smoothness of extending the poles and then locking them in position. The ends are interesting. The base has a bevel with a point pin the centre that makes it ideal for camping. The top end has a soft rubber or silicon bulb that makes it great for garden nets or tops since it should not puncture the covers as long as you do not apply extra strong force. For my needs, I am just using a pail with dirt to support the base for the netting.I really do like how it has been designed to make it as easy as possible to erct a support for a tarp or cover. Ideal for those camping needs and ideal for my garden needs.
