When you start out in photography or even video recording, you kind of wonder about those coloured backgrounds. I did. And later, I discovered that these background colours were just simple paper rolls. Today, I guess you can pretty much shoot anywhere are cut and paste any kind of background you want, but I still like photographing on paper.Standard paper rolls are nine (9) feet across, and half rolls re 4.5'. I can tell you from personal experience, trying to manage 9' rolls of paper in a cardboard box, is not a lot of fun! You need room and you need to carefully extract that roll from the cardboard box. Next, you need a ten (10) foot pole to thread into the paper roll and then some hangers on light stands or grip stands, to hold everything up. Don't forget to sandbag the heck out of those stands, too!Next, raise the stands together, to keep the bar straight and then carefully pull the paper down - right onto the ground and several feet out, too, if you are going to see peoples feet. It's a lot of work! But there is hope! This Wall/Ceiling attachment by Tenbest can solve your problems. Or, at least, a lot of them. First, you attach this unit to the ceiling or wall. I much prefer the wall because I can mount a 1X8 or 1X0 across a room, and hit some studs every 16" or so. This will give you a firm, solid anchor point to start from. You can easily mount the unit so the lower roller is closest to the wall, and the next two protrude in front of the first. A "chain" will allow you to easily raise and lower a roll of paper and you won't get the paper doing a "runaway" on its own. Been there, done that. Not pretty. One thing to keep in mind too, get yourself every medium to large spring clips. They are great for clipping a paper roll to its self, to prevent movement. And they come in handy for lots more. In addition, get at least two sand bags to hold down the paper when you have it on the ground. Again, it's amazing how much "fight" a roll of nine foot paper has...This unit will easily let you manage three rolls of paper backdrops. You could also use muslin material too. The cost is more, but unlike paper, you can use it again and again. Usually, when people walk on the paper, you need to cut off the bottom and rollup what's left. After two or three jobs, you get a new roll. Or if you are only shooting across into the paper, well, you can use that paper for years! This unit by Tenbest is well made, well thought out, and easy to use. If you are currently working with paper backdrops or fabric ones, you really need to get something like this. You will work faster, and easier. You will not loose material trying to return it to the box at the end of each shoot. And I can tell you one other thing. Many times, your work becomes a "dog and pony show". In other words, sometime people are impressed by what they see around you and not just by your results. Look the part of a well organized professional, and you will get treated like that. Having a cool looking, functional backdrop management system in your studio, makes you look the part!Bottom Line - An excellent piece of studio equipment. Functional, durable and simple to use, it will help you work better and help to keep you organized!

TL;DR - A simple, but effective backdrop system. Limited utility for the metal poles.DISCLAIMER - This review sample was provided to me free of charge. The opinions expressed are solely my own with no input from either manufacturer or Amazon. For context, I work as a professional photographer.I ordered this setup because I wanted to create a convenient, but temporary backdrop setup. And technically it works, but it's hardly more convenient than using a singular backdrop pole.If you intend to use this setup on stands you absolutely must secure everything with sandbags to prevent catastrophic failure. This is true even more so if you intend to use the included metal poles, as these poles make the entire setup incredibly top heavy.Additionally, there are diminishing returns in terms of efficiency. If you're using these primary to do only headshots or 3/4 body portraits where the backdrop does not need to be fully extended onto the ground, this setup is awesome. But for full length shots, the time it takes fully extend the paper out and secure it isn't that much more convenient than swapping individual rolls. Maybe I'm just fast at switching rolls, or painfully slow at everything else, but the annoyance of rolling up paper was basically the same to me. It's always tedious and makes me long for the days of electronic backdrop systems. The last thing I'll mention, that I absolutely hate is how cheap the chains are in all of these sets. I am perpetually afraid of snapping a link as I use them. They are literally the weakest link.Personally speaking, if you have the ability to mount these on a wall or ceiling, I'd highly recommend that over using them on stands.Other than that, not a bad product at all.

Great for quick backdrops when you need them. I use them for product photography and it's been a great asset to have. Saves quite a bit of time. Easy to pull down and pull up when you need. Sturdy build and smooth rollers.Setting it up was quite easy. Love that it saves quite a bit of space. It doubles as my zoom background. Especially love using a "green screen" to make it easy for digital backgrounds for voice conferencing.

This stand was easy to unpack and assemble. It only requires a repetition of several steps. The instruction leaflet is typically small with tiny sized text and illustrations. I know there is room to make the illustrations larger. For my photographs I concentrated on closeups of how things fit together. The end rollers are all plastic and very light. On the rollers with the gear, the gap between the teeth of the gear and the surround is narrow enough that the chains need to be threaded up and over the gear to feed the chain through. I think that way reduces the odds of a chain coming off the gear teeth at the wrong time. The expansion of the rollers operates easily with little force. From fully collapsed to the widest setting can be finely adjusted. In the kit there are two substantial flat steel hangers that suspend the 3 assembled rollers and tubes. I have sloped roof beams as my ceiling so I always have to figure out how to hoist up things. I'm not supposed to be bolting things into the rafters. It was a relief to see this covered by including 2 adapter mounts to go between the hangars and standard light stands. That's probably the solution I will go for. That arrangement gives the possibility to take all or part of this kit for location use.

This is a great set, well engineered and well thought out. Really opens up some possibilities for your studio or field work. The ability to mount this to tripods/stands, you can really use this anywhere.Setup is a breeze and I had zero issues mounting this to my ceiling.

Good quality photo background paper roll wall :)This product is made with good quality material and looks very sturdy.I'm using this set on the wall on my small home office / studio and because of the space limitation,I don't want use any Light stand or backdrop on a frame... so, this was a great solution for meThe installation was not that bad, as long as yo uhave all the tools needed.Overall I like the product

This paper roll system is HEAVY DUTY and made the same as more expensive name brand products. I did opt to use wooden bolts to mount the background stand for added security but I have no doubt the included hardware works just as well. I am very pleased with the performance and setup of the backgorund rollers, it really added a positive element to my studio, which was much better than using a standing background stand with little paper roll control.

I really like the concept of this background system, however, there are a few things that I feel could be improved. First, I got this system to currently use in my home studio on stands and later transfer to the new studio my husband is having built for me on our property. Once in the new building, the system will be attached to the ceiling.Using the system on stands requires a decent support to hold all the weight. You will have to either invest in heavy duty stands or do what I did and make the setup smaller by reducing the crossbar length (only use 2 of the three sections). I have heavy duty light stands, but I wanted to keep those for lighting and boom arms. So, I resolved to use an average set of stands for this system. This proved problematic if using the crossbars at full length. The weight is so heavy that although the stands stayed upright, I worried that one slight bump and everything would come down. So, this only allows me to have about a 6-7 foot width backdrop. That amount is fine for most of what I do at the moment, but I was looking forward to going larger. If I had enough heavy duty stands I may have a different opinion.Second, I found that when I had the rods in the longer position, they kind of bent a little from the weight which causes a slight drape in softer backdrop fabrics. I hope this is not an issue once I have the system on the ceiling. I was scouring the internet for a better way of using the crossbars. What I might do if the length bends too much is possibly replace the crossbars with PVC pipe or heavy cardboard tubes (like from an upholstery fabric store).Overall, the system went together easily and it works. I do feel like the entire system is constructed a little on the light side. Also, I just don’t care for the three colors of “chain”. It doesn’t seem professional looking to me. However, that’s just my style and has nothing to do with function.I knocked off a star mainly for the overall light construction. Other than that, I like the concept and function of the system very much.

Perfect for a small photography/video studio. Works well with rolls of seamless paper. Super simple to assemble and mount (if you so choose). The brackets and tubes are metal, but the knobs and chains are plastic, so it's a great entry-level setup, but don't get too rough with it. Overall, great way to get those rolls of seamless off the floor!
