If you're wondering what's on this disc by Studio Ghibli, it's mostly commerical content. Some are contracted commercials, while others are for their own movies. Do not buy this expecting the shorts shown at the Ghibli Museum like "Mei & the Kittenbus"!The main attraction is probably the 1995 music video "On Your Mark" directed by Miyazaki, which I've never seen on any other disc release. (Note that in 2016 this video is available online, though probably illegally.)There are also interviews on the making of some of these odds and ends, and a quick look through the Ghibli Museum that's also an advertisement for the DVD that focuses on it. There are no substantial interviews with Miyazaki. There are a few with Toshio Suzuki, and Takahata shows up briefly.If you're a Ghibli fanatic then this disc might interest you for some of the odds and ends they have worked on up to 2005, but it doesn't actually show the bulk of their short films, which are shown at the Ghibli Museum. Also note that it's in Japanese without subtitles, and you will need a region 2 or region free player.

this collection of shorts reminds me of the Pixar shorts. both Pixar and studio ghibli are the top companies of there kind of product. both companies make high quality very creative and imaginative animated films. but from there they diverge. no one makes anything like studio ghibli, no one. these shorts are great and they show the early times of this company and how they were developing. you must have a multi area player to watch this.

Ce DVD n'est pas véritablement une compilation des courts du Musée Ghibli. Ce sont plutôt de très courtes annonces de produits ou services, présentées en dessin animé. De la publicité, quoi!Seul, On Your Mark (une réalisation de Miyazaki) est un court métrage original de 7 minutes basé sur une chanson. Cette histoire (sans dialogue) d'ange qui est sauvé par deux policiers est très bien animée, dans un dessin réaliste et avec de superbes décors. Mais sachez qu'on peut le voir assez facilement sur la toile, si vous n'avez pas le DVD. Quelques bonus s'ajoutent à cela: Dessins préparatoires, etc...Il est un peu difficile au début de naviguer à travers les menus du disque en japonais. Avec un minimum d'acharnement on peut y arriver tout de même.Tous les programmes sont en japonais sans sous-titrage; donc c'est pour les fans de Ghibli purs et durs. Disque en NTSC, mais Zoné 2. Merci au revendeur pour cet envoi au Québec. 😀

As a fan of Hayao Miyazaki, you're going to enjoy some of the shorts, but it's really important to know that these are NOT the short movies that are shown at the museum. These are mostly small snippets of various animations or advertisements that were used. Perhaps the best was the music video. Probably not worth the premium price tag unless you're really a fan.
