Although this will scan, it will not continuously scan and does not allow noise to come through while scanning. Therefore, this will not work as a spirit box. Waste of money.

So for starters I can't say how well it does or doesn't work as a spirit box. It's too soon to give that a try with adequate effort in a place that has a great chance of catching something. The spirit box does look like the pictures and everything functions as advertised. The controls are super simple and nothing is complicated, technology wise. This device does require 3 batteries which is a bummer as I would really prefer it to be rechargeable. I know over the years supposedly haunted places would drain the power from most electronic devices. So I wonder if batteries is better because you could just swap then our versus needing additional time to recharge the device. So I don't have any issues with it needing batteries. The reception is certainly good and the lighted screen is an aspect that helps with finding channels. This device is very comfortable to carry/hold, even for an extended period of time. The housing feels well built so I hope if it is dropped that it will hold up okay. It would be helpful if they included a case or holster of sorts in the future. Overall it matches the pictures and the device functions as it should. It's gonna be fun using this as intended trying to find spirits or anything else that might exist. The price does seem high but if there any success using it for the intended purpose then it will be absolutely worth it.

This is nothing more than a radio, and a cheap one at that, that runs off of triple A batteries. Instructions do not mention anything about about paranormal or spirits. I got this as a gift for a teenager who is fascinated by all things paranormal and the disappointment on her face when she realized it was nothing more than a radio was disheartening. Literally this company slapped a "Spirit Box" sticker over the brand name of the radio and charges $85 dollars for this. This is deliberately misleading and fraudulent.
