If you’re a fan of book nook kits where you snap pre-printed pieces together, this isn’t the project for you. If you love assembling tiny items from scratch, though, you want this gorgeous, well-designed kit. There are tons of lovely bits and pieces to it, and everything fits together perfectly. The lighting rig is especially fun to set up and see in action. The only sticking point for me was the beaded elements. The designers want you to glue each individual bead onto the strings to achieve a particular spacing, and that way lies madness. I glued in each bottom bead and put my own clear glass seed beads in between each subsequent bead to get basically the same effect with way less frustration.

I really don't like leaving negative reviews, but I felt like I should for this one. This is my second book nook project, the first one I did was by the brand Rolife (which I think is the main brand for these crafts). I was really excited about this one, but it's definitely not as organized as the Rolife one. The images for the instructions are small and not clear. Then the labelling of the actual pieces came mixed up. The items that should be in the "E" bag are in the "D" bag, and most of the bags aren't even labelled. The main wood cuts are supposed to have blue paint on the edges and they don't. I could go on. I will finish it and hopefully it looks decent, but I don't think I will be buying from this brand again.

Nothing is painted on, so you need to cut out every single image (including the ridiculously complex cuts required for the external siding images. I found it very difficult to cut without either leaving white edges showing or cutting something off entirely.None of the pieces are labeled, so you need to measure each piece individually to determine which piece belongs where. And some are almost identical so it is hard to differentiate - ESPECIALLY when the instructions also indicate that some pieces may be slightly larger/smaller than described (and when some of the pieces are only mm apart in size this can make IDing certain pieces almost impossibly difficult. The instructions are flawed, with steps missing or being difficult to understand.Trying to wire up this thing should be simple, but it isn’t. At one point it says to tape around the wire attached to the switch to help strengthen the connection, but the tape provided is garbage, and the place they want reinforced is so tiny it is hard to do. Then it just called off anyway.Oh, and I was missing pieces - missing transparencies frames meant I had to order some additionally (as the transparencies are literally the outside of the book and to go without would look wrong). This could be such an awesome looking display piece if they just simplified some of the process - make the side images punch outs so that they look clean and don’t cause undue stress for assemblers trying to cut all the itty bitty pieces. Or paint on the sides directly onto the transparencies for the same purpose.Or, put all the things we are required to cut out onto sticker paper, so builders just peel and stick and don’t have to worry about cutting something wrong.Finally. LABEL THE DANG PIECES!

Would have been a good project but lots of missing pieces and terrible instructions. Had to YouTube some of it. Important pieces missing, like a door, missing instructions, small wooden pieces, no glue and NO batteries and have no clue what kind to get as there is zero information. Not much good if it doesn’t light up!!

Were missing 3 pieces, plus two were not the same lenght as they were suppose to! Well packaged but broken pieces in it? Did not try the light yet but i don't have a lot of hope. No glue be aware need to buy a stong one because pieces are loose and don't connect in one another so super gloo or wood glue you need if you want this to not collapse in a week

This is a gorgeous set, but if you're planning to give it to a kid, don't. It's really made for teens or adults because of the complexity. No tools are included, and you'll need your own adhesive. Everything is very intricate, and you'll need to cut. It reminds me of a large doll house kit my dad got me once. Very beautiful, but this is not a simple project.
