This unit was bought as a replacement for an identical unit I've had for 15 years and given lots of use. It was having some intermittent problems with its VCR section, both with recording and playback, but can't be serviced since parts are no longer available for it. I've only had this reconditioned unit for a couple of weeks, but, so far, it operates just as well as the original one did when it was new. The reconditioned unit, including its remote, cost 3X what the original one did, but coupled to a DVD recorder, it does everything I want it to do.

There is no way to give a good rating to a machine whose life was about 3 minutes. But Brian, a production manager at TEKling was very helpful. I talked to Brian on the phone a couple of times and he tried to walk me through any possible connection problems. I eventually figured out the machine’s power supply had blown and Brian helped me navigate the Amazon return process. Eventually I realized I could not retrieve either my VHS tape or my DVD. Brian promised to retrieve them and send them back to me; I believe he will. I am waiting for a replacement machine and am nervous that it will not come from TEKling, whose service cooperation and good attitude were really appreciated by me.

Mostly purchased for VCR, so when I tried to play a DVD, it did and didn’t. DVD quit playing or sticking. It is what it is.
