The installation of this 30 amp connector took me no more than 5 mins. Because I’m not an electrician I read the instructions just to be clear, but it wasn’t necessary as it was a no brainer. One of the reviews said that the person had a hard time installing it and suggested that it was a design problem. I suspect that this person is either from a competitor who wants to discredit the manufacturer, or simply does not know how to install standard plugs. If you are fairly handy, you’ll have no issues installing this connector. By the way, I am not associated in any way to this manufacturer and I have no other interest than to share my experience with others.

The only reason I returned this product was due to the fact it didn’t fit in the inlet box I have mounted for whole home generator power. Other than that it is a solid quality product!

Spliced this plug onto the end of an existing cord and now it locks and is secure. Previous plug was not locking. It was knocked loose by wind...power went out...came back to rotten stuff in the fridge.

The housing on this 50 amp plug is cheap plastic and way to small for 50 amp wire awg 4 -8.and Its called a ship to shore plug for outdoor use but says in instructions to only use in dry locations! Have they never heard of rain ? and the last time i looked my boat was in the water at the dock at the marina surrounded by water, campgrounds can also get very wet . I will keep it but only use it for my garage generator and where I can cover it up from the rain….save your money its crap!

Compared to the L14-20 that I took off to replace with this, it isn't as sturdy. But it's good enough for the price. Good enough for basic and infrequent use but I wouldn't rely on this for heavy duty.
