Was a great choice for my needs. I chose this instead of the fixed antenna wire antenna. The fixed wired meant I would have to cut it and rewire it from the mount to the radio. With this quick connect I can pop the 4ft antenna off and replace it with a larger one if I ever need it. I can also just take the antenna off and cap it if I don't want the antenna. It doesn't come with mounting screw but that is expected due to the variations of boat hull types and different mounting needs. It came with a rubber gasket seal to go between the base an the boat.

We use our boat for pleasure and fishing. Nice when just out in the lake to be able to remove antenna so kids don’t pull on it.Knocked off a star because cable is small gauge and better style connectors wouldn’t work. Seems to work well with 4’ antenna in puget sound.

Great, solid base and the quick disconnect feature is awesome so I can remove the antenna for trailering or family fun days, then put it back on for fishing the big water

Thing works great. If I know I’m not gonna use the antenna I can take it off

The mount is well made, but horribly designed. Instead of feeding the cable through a hole, Shakespeare decided to mill a slot in the side of the threads that the antenna threads on to. Based on the product photo, I'm not sure if I got some old stock? I don't know. But this creates a path for water intrusion when the antenna is down for transport. Even when the antenna is up, moisture will get in there. For $80, I expected much better. The picture I have attached shows a mount (right side) that I hodgepodged together with stuff I purchased and other stuff I had. I'm just waiting for a crimp tool to finish this project. I'll also be using RG8X cable, instead of RG58. That's another grip I have concerning the price. Look in the picture I provided. I made a mount for the same price, with upgraded components. The end cost includes parts and tools to finish this. This mount will be sealed with o-rings on top and silicone on bottom when I'm done. And it was still less than Shakespeares mount.Come on Shakespeare! Do better! Also: That is a 3/4" threaded pvc cap to cover and seal the mount when the antenna is not attached.
