Purchased to help hang a medium/heavy punching bag. It is doing the job for a few months now and I have had no problems. Helps dampen energy from hitting the bag going up to a basement ceiling.

The spring is fine, but you need to use it for an appropriate purpose. I bought it for a classic boxing heavy bag, and it's too loose/springy. The standard weight of the bag is about 80lbs, so unless you want that amount of give, or it's for a 40lb kids bag, they're best used for another purpose. The spring is solid, just not for heavier weights ... max 50lbs, if that.

It works great. Used to feel my upper floor shake when my husband used the punching bag. And now I don't feel anything. Wonderful.

I used this to hang my heavy bag. After a few weeks of using I can say that this works well at eliminating joist noise when hitting the heavy bag.

Unfortunately this spring is NOT sturdy enough for hanging chair as described. I’m 5’3” 115lbs and after sitting in chair for the first time after install, the spring deformed and stretched. This lowered the chair too much to use. The locking links are very sturdy, but I will be tossing the spring.

Got a punching bag ceiling mount. hooked an 80lbs punching bag on it. The mount's in a garage with wooden hoist beams from 1999. I used to compete in amateur boxing middleweight. I punch hard, and the vibration of my punches on the punching bag reverberates throughout the house. It's loud.Installed this spring, and just like that, the vibration sound issues were gone. You can only hear the punches on the bag. I think that this and any other spring will take out a good 60-90% of the dynamic stress of anything hung with it.
