This product is easy to use and seems to work well. I've only tried it once, however, the hummers are very active at the feeder.

Please stop using this to feed hummingbirds . They don't need lab experiments and red dye in their food sources. If you can't be bothered to change the feeders to keep them safe , then plant nectar flowers that will always be there for them. There are studies that show this stuff is not safe for birds , and it's not necessary.

Hummingbirds do not like this product. For years we've been feeding hummingbirds and I've always cleaned my feeders and changed the sugar-water solution every 5 days, more often in hot summer temps. Tried this Nectar Defender thinking it would help keep the solution even fresher. Well maybe it does that but every hummer we'd been feeding tried it once and never returned for more. Went from feeding multiple Anna's hummingbirds all year round to having none visit the feeders at all. The Rufous hummers that had just returned in the spring also tried the solution once and then disappeared. So I began reducing the amount of Nectar Defender added to my sugar-water until it was less than 1/4 the recommended amount yet still no difference in hummers being willing to drink it. When I stopped using Nectar Defender completely the hummers slowly returned and began feeding like normal. The proof is in the pudding and I will never use Nectar Defender again. For healthy and happy hummers be diligent and clean your feeders frequently (super hot water and a little vinegar works well) and replace the sugar-water every several days. Pass on supposed short-cuts like Nectar Defender.

Seems to keep nectar fresher. Instead of requiring changing within three to four days in hot temperatures it stayed fresh and not cloudy for a week

Feeder Fresh Nectar Defender works at least as well as described. A batch of nectar that I prepared is still clear. All I am missing now is some humming birds!

It gets very hot where I live and this works. When I put sugar water outside without this, it gets cloudy very fast. I just put in one capful per cup of water and it doesn’t get cloudy til I change the water.

Another great product for helping us mere humans do what we should Always do is be responsible when setting up any trust arrangement with unsuspecting, grateful of course in high need of our help since we've encroached, paved, used and depleted too many natural clean water sources, streams, sepheneral springs, and estuaries +thanks fast food jerks of plastic polluters! Nectar occurs in native flowers--but box stores sell mass produced, sterile hybridized to death anuals and perennial flowers, so when the hummers excitedly notice your flowers, but are disappointed, you can point them to your CLEAN NECTAR FEEDER WITH ready nectar and this stuff! It extends freshness a whooping up to 10 days I think. Thank you! I use it every time but only just to be sure it stays fresh for my normal time between nectar changes. +I also wrap my GLASS feeders in cotton terry cloth towel strips that I also get wet and cold in fridge then wrap feeders to keep nectar cold then at min cool. Hot will ferment and could kill these birds. Btw, more than 3 hummingbirds is considered not a flock but a "Tune"! A group of finches is called a "Charm" love it!! Lol(a group of Chickadees, a "Band"

I tried this product and was very happy. At the end of a week there was NO slime in my feeder which makes cleaning a snap. I do not use any chemicals or soap to keep the feeders clean. I just wipe with a paper towel and hot water and rinse really well. The top of my feed comes off which makes cleaning easier. I do not know about bottle style feeders but I assume the cleaning would be easier in any type of feeder you have. The hummers need clean nectar or they will not return to your feeder. For the money, I recommend you try this product. I think you will be amazed.

We had daily hummingbirds until a baby owl stayed in our backyard for a week until he learned to fly. The nectar has stayed very clear for a week since we haven’t seen any visitors. It is pricey and goes fast!

This product is amazing. It keeps hummer nectar fresh and crystal clear for a solid two weeks. We have regular hummingbird visitors at our feeders but not large numbers of them, so they don't go through it very fast. I was routinely throwing nectar out after a few days, especially in warm weather, even though I use small capacity feeders. I didn't want to risk it going bad and harming the hummers. Sugar is cheap, but it's nice to be able to fill the feeders and leave them for a week or two without worrying about the nectar going bad. Great product.
