Product works well. The hood fits well and traps almost all dust from the saw. However....the 4" outlet does NOT fit any 4" dust collection fittings. The outside diameter of the hood fitting is too big for a connector and too small for a straight fit. Had to gorilla tape a connector so I could connect to my dust collection system. Otherwise it's a good unit.

Well, after questioning this product on Amazon and getting good feedback, I bit the bullet and bought it. Overnight delivery. Took about 30 minutes to set up. My Makita mitre saw is mounted on a Ridgid folding stand so I tried a couple of different mounting points. Ended up using the back 2 saw mounting bolts. They were long enough to add the brackets and additional washers and nuts. It plugged right on the my 4” dust collection system. Wow, what a difference! I don’t even bother putting the saws little dust bag on the saw. Every thing is well contained in the unit and goes down the vacuum port. Anything that hangs up near the edges I blow down with compressed air while my dust collection unit is running. No more mess on the floor.

Prior to getting the Rousseau 5000 the sawdust would go everywhere. I tried different things to contain the dust but nothing worked. I was sceptical about how good the Rousseau would work, I even thought of making a box around my mitre saw to contain the dust. Thank goodness I did not build it and finally ordered the Rousseau. When I received it , I could not wait to try it. It was easy to set-up and does an excellent job of containing the saw dust. It looks different but does an excellent job of containing the sawdust.

The 4 inch cup at the bottom does not work with the reduced piece that you have to order separately.

This is a very nice kit! Comes in a very sturdy storage/carrying bag. The trick is to figure out where to install the brackets to avoid interfering with the range of movement of the saw. I drilled some holes for the bolts in my table, mounted the shroud and went to hook up the vacuum. Ran into a problem there. The adapter that was recommended for this shroud is the same diameter as the vacuum port on the shroud. I had to go to the hardware store to acquire a 4 inch adapter. I taped them together so I can take it apart when needed.

This is a great product!It is easy to set up and works perfectly.It’s a pity I could not afford the version with lights but I will solve that another way, it is a bit dark inside the hood at times.I would recommend this to anyone with a mitre saw, now I work in a clean environment and I can see cuts even when doing bulk cutting!

The tent is best money I spent ...it keeps dust in one area ...and connected to a vacuum it keeps clean... especially MDF

My only regret is not ordering this unit four years ago viewing YouTuber Rob Cosman demonstrating it on his woodworking channel! Literally mounts in minutes to ANY chop saw (Mitabo). The four inch dust port makes the vacuum portion work properly, containing 95% of dust.

I couldn't be more impressed with how well this works. I have this mounted on a Ridgid 10" compound miter saw. Before my workshop full of Man Tools was always polluted with saw dust, every surface high and low would continue their dusty progression. Dust would be tracked upstairs to the woman areas which was putting a negative effect on the sammich production.Not any more. This hood catches 99% of saw dust, there are only minute amounts on the floor now. The majority of sawdust from a miter saw comes out the sides of the blade, so your bag or even a vacuum attachment is only catching a small amount.Overall performance: ExcellentInstallation: Head scratcher. The directions are pointless, there are no examples of this being attached to your particular saw, and my google machine was not hitting on any Ridgid mounts. I scratched my head for a while making sure whatever it was mounted to still allowed for all cuts, even bevel. After what seemed like forever it finally came to me, hopefully the pictures attached to this review will help other Ridgid saw owners.Range of Saw Motion: 95% still workable. There is only one 45° compound bevel cut to the left that can not be made with my current mount setup. So only if I have to fully extend the saw which is only on large moldings. But that same cut can be made on the right side.Overall: 4.9 stars. Directions and their youtube video are trash.It is mounted to a 2.5" dedicated Ridgid shop vac with an which is a dream come true. Saw turns on, shop vac turns on 2 seconds later, saw turns off, shop vac turns off 8 seconds later. I used a 4" fernco coupling and The construction seems very strong which relates in the price. If you want a clean workshop or jobsite this is for you.

should of purchased sooner, cant see any other way of reducing mitre saw dust than this hood.over 90% of dust is collected through the 100mm dust extractor connector. great being able to use the mitre saw without covering the floor and everything in the vicinity in dust
