Pretty straight forward setup. Follow the instructions to add it to your ring system, and start using it.It would be nice if it didn't use a micro USB as the power jack, though. A standard barrel jack like the one on the base station would make installation easier for anyone who is installing power cabling in their wall for this.

I need this keyboard for a difference entrance of the house. It works well! I like the "ring" design that alerts the user how long do they have to unlock the system before it starts to alert. Highly configurable through the app.

UPDATE 2023-12-26: As much as I loved the Ring security system, I bought 3 keypads and every one of them broke - one right after the other in a span of 2 to 3 years. What happens is the speakers stop working in them and they become dead silent. No audio notification. Nothing. My last keypad is now sounding distorted and this is what it will do just before completely losing audio. It’s a well known issue. Multiple others have experienced the same issue. I spent a lot on these keypads and now I’m supposed to buy them again? That doesn’t seem right. A keypad should last for the life of the alarm system. Not break down within a couple of years.I love the Ring alarm system. It’s so easy to install and much less costly than going through an alarm company. Plus no contracts to sign and be locked into. This keypad was purchased for my back door. I needed a way to deactivate the alarm when entering through that door. It’s been connected for several months now with no issues and no battery recharge! I’m surprised that it had not required a recharge yet. I’m very impressed with the entire system and find it more user friendly than the one I had professionally installed years ago. It’s so easy to connect other alarm accessories.

I got this in the package with other devices. The product works well in Canada, however it is ugly! It looks like a child's toy. Hopefully the next design it better.

Best alarm system I ever had.I am not saying it is the most sophisticated. It is overall the best.1. Price, $100 full monitored security system. You cant beat that.2. Easy to install, no RIP off installation charges. Very simple.3. Smart, works with Alexa, Samsung smart things, Honneywell thermostat. Works with just about all your smart products.4. Cellar backup, the ring cameras I have are all solar. Except the floodlight cam. Everything else in this system is ran on battery. My internet is on a battery backup. So if my power goes out, I am still protected. My cameras are still running.5. Smoke and carbon monoxide, I added the smart amery wifi smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. My wife burned some food and they went off. Ring called my cell phone and asked if we was ok. If I did not pick up, they would have sent the fire department.5. Alexa guard, Alexa echoes now also listen for noise. To set the alarm just say Alexa guard. Alexa will set ring in away mode, then turn on all alexas in the house into glass beak detectors.

Love this system . It even syncs with my Schlage smart locks ! Easy install . Only issue I had was when installing a sensor .. it wouldn’t sync to the app. I called ring and they were able to walk me thru it in minutes . I wish they made th e cases for the sensors easier to take on and off . I had to move some sensors around after sticking them to the windows. And in order to re add them to the app I had to take the backs off and reset them .. once off I couldn’t get them back on without ripping them off the sticky pad .. rendering it then useless . I then had to go buy gorilla tape to use to stick them back up .Over all tho that was the only issue I had . I have one for my own unit and my tenants units !

I am not one that gets starry eyed with flashy lights and high tech looks. At first glance, this keypad looks so basic, and down right cheap; however, it is simple and quick. When I first bought the Ring system, this keypad was one of the things that I thought that I didn't care for too much. After messing with it for a bit when I got it, I realized it was perfect, not too much poking and toying with it, just straight up simple as it should be. Battery life unplugged is 9-12 months (per my research). I opted to hardwire mine into my pre-existing alarm system's wiring (look it up on YT). Anyway, excellent simple, easy to mount.

The number one thing I dislike is the icons. While it didn't take us long to commit to memory what they mean, if someone drops by to bring the mail in while we're out of town they struggle with this. One such visitor called frantically "which one is disarm???" I ended up printing labels for it - plain text would help.I was looking for a way to cleanly install - no wires showing - and after some Googling I learned about the battery performance of these keypads which is really good at 3 months. This wasn't in the manual!! You can put it anywhere you want without plugging it in and charge it in a few hours when prompted. Turn off the battery saving feature and it'll light up displaying system status when you approach it. Despite that nice feature, the motion sensor isn't very sensitive and sometimes early in the morning when the house is still dark I have to tap a button to wake it up.

Replaced ADT system with Ring Alarm. The Ring Alarm Keypad seems to be of good quality. Device is easy to install. I did find that some small improvements could make the keypad far more useful. (1) Have the option to dim status lights (they are very bright!), (2) Wall mount/Stand is not very sturdy, (3) Number keypad should be backlit all the time (keypad only lights up after the first key is selected), (4) More contrast needed on status lights (can't see status of the security modes due to bright back light and neutral symbology), (5) Allow keypad to be plugged in 24/7 (after 30 days keypad stopped working, did some research and found that others had an issue with leaving the keypad on A/C 24/7. I unplugged, after about 10 minutes keypad starting working again), (6) Perhaps a small LED screen displaying date, time, status would be useful. Over all good product. Well worth the cost and savings over ADT.
