This tool makes it possible to do work in challenging situations. A couple of batteries and other Porter-Cable products, say, a drill, grinder, reciprocating saw,.......they will make field work and bench work, easier. Priced right, well built, and 20 volts for power, that should get things done! Reliable product from a reputable name.

Awesome saw!! Has enough power from the battery to cut wood. It also helps that you can take it anywhere where you don't have access to electricity.I would definitely order from you again because you ship the saw very fast to my location.

I have used P&C products for close to 20 yrs now. Been very happy with them so far. I am disappointed with the cutting power of this saw. First thing is to take the blade that came with the saw and toss it in the garbage. Cutting plywood is next to impossible. So by a decent blade, diablo, bosh, etc. Also you want to pickup some large capacity batteries. The standard ones that come with the drill/driver sets will give you a few cuts and then are dead. Once you have a decent blade and extra capacity batteries it is a decent saw for doing odd jobs around the house. I am happy with it and there are no cords. Plywood, 2x4's it will do a decent job. If I were a contractor I would stay away from this saw, just not enough power.

Boutght it to make long angle cut on laminate floor. Somehow it keeps chipping the floor's painted top, even with mask tape on, tried cutting from both side, same thing. weird eh? I might have to try a fine blade one, or maybe higher RPM would have helped.I find Porter Cable Reciprocating Tigersaw lasts somewhat longer than this circular saw doing the same work, could be my own perseption. Rubber handles feel good, easy to use, angle adjustment works well, I like the color.

This is a saw that was about $65 and does everything I have asked. I heard and watched reviews about this saw that Almost convinced me not to buy it but I was already invested in the PC batteries so went ahead and got it. Glad I did. I have no issues with poor accuracy or a wobble in the blade or bevel. Solid, powerful, and easy to use. I upgraded the blade and it works even better. I doubt any saws in this price range or even higher will be a better saw. Get the 4 amp battery if using a lot. But for a few cuts the 2 or 1.5 is great. I would say my one complaint is that the safety is a little stiff but that is better than it not working. Plus, I personally love the color scheme, the gray, black and red are awesome.

I have been using this for a couple of days so this will be a first impressions review.I will update this in a few months after I have a little more experience with it.----- Pros -----1) Very ergonomic.2) Lightweight.3) Safety button must be depressed when initially squeezing the power trigger. Some people might think this is a con but I believe this should be on all saws. It is not hard to do after three or four "practice" tries, it just takes a little getting used to.4) So far I've used it to cut 10 2x12s and 10 2x10s with very little battery drain.5) I have no idea how long the blade it came with will last, but I can say I had very little tear-out with it so far. I have ordered a Dewalt 40 tooth blade, I hope it will do well.----- Cons -----1) Whoever designed the blade changing process should be strapped down naked on an anthill in the desert and have honey poured on them.2) Had to buy 2 6Ah batteries and a charger, which almost tripled the total cost to own. This is where manufactures make the real money.3) The Porter-Cable drill and impact driver have battery charge indicators on them. No such luck with this saw. If I want to know how much battery is left I have to take it off and plug it into a charger or into the drill or impact driver. This is a major con for me. I don't understand how this "feature" made it into the final product. That's all for now. If Porter-Cable would fix the three cons listed above, I think they could be king of the hill for this circular saw market segment.

Stream of consciousness review:This saw works well... upgraded from the 5.5" Porter-Cable model.I bought a 40 tooth Diablo blade to replace the standard blade... Cuts great, clean, decent power for what it is. Problem I had immediately is the guard getting hung on whatever I was cutting. A simple spring clamp will pinch it securely out of the way until the project is done. I built a simple sled to use to make exact cuts. 1/4" piece of ply on top another piece of 1/2" ply works well and keeps the saw on track. Hard to get an exact cut if just eyeballin' it... Power of the saw is nothing like a corded saw, of course. This thing sucks through batteries twice as fast as its 5.5" little brother Porter-Cable saw.I'm just using the standard 1.3A Porter batteries that come default with the original tool kits. I was going to purchase a larger battery but instead am going to opt for the impact driver that comes with 2 of the 1.3A batteries, charger and the driver... I've been using the drill now for years. Very satisfied overall... but the draw on this larger 6.5" saw just killed one of my 1.3A batteries so - there's that. I'd estimate you can saw about 12 or so 2x3's before the 1.3A battery dies. My batteries are 3 years old though so there's that. The reason I upgraded was I needed the extra inch of blade really... so it was worth it. When this 6.5" saw runs a battery down, I can eject that battery out and run it in the 5.5" saw for a few cuts before that one dies. Just a big difference in the power demand of the motors between the two. The build on the 5.5" is cheaper as well as the deck on the 5.5" just got all janky and wouldn't cut true any longer. The 6.5" is much sturdier overall and definitely heavier. I read comments about users not being able to change the blade. The guard gets in the way a bit but it took me about 45 seconds to install the Diablo 40 tooth blade. Again, well worth the blade upgrade.Height adjustment lever only goes a quarter turn or so from full tight to loose. Gotta be aware of that. The blade cutting relates ok to a line you draw to cut but I'd highly recommend either using a square as a guide or build a simple track out of a couple scraps of plywood. That simple jig I pictured works great. Perfect, square cuts every time.
