Improved signal

I installed this in-line to an existing antenna (which had its own booster), as had been suggested by a local merchant for my specific specific antenna (because I have a long coax cable run). It actually worsened the reception, rendering it just the same as if I would would run the antenna alone (with its booster unplugged) - meaning adding a secondary booster actually did nothing. Thankfully, the seller accepted my return.

The Phillips Amplifier made a difference in that now we have a continuous signal on the existing channels. More channels are coming in clearly. The amplifier was easily installed to the TV and outdoor aerial cable. We also use a rotar directional finder for the aeriel. We use the scan to find the best signal for different stations.

I had problem with some channels that were freezing from times to times. This little wonder boost them so the signal get strong enough to avoid that. Very satisfied!

It doesn’t help to receive better signals at all.

Works great. Many extra stations. Problem I have is keeping the station working any amount of time. I think this has more to do with reception (trees) than the booster.

I purchased this low noise amplifier for use with a passive TV antenna due to my location having an apartment building complex between the transmitter and me. Due to this along with cell towers mounted to the top of some of the buildings, most wide band LNAs would lead to receiver overload as many will start amplifying signals outside of the TV broadcast range. This was an issue I had with one of my older antennas with a built in LNA (old radioshack unit). Since it would also amplify cell signals, it would instantly cause receiver overload and result in most channels no longer working. At that time I had attempted to use a basic low pass filter that was rated from 5-608MHz, but it did not attenuate enough to prevent receiver overload while trying to boost the weaker channels enough. With that in mind, I decided to move to a passive antenna, and use the LNA, and it worked pretty well. Later, I was able to further improve the performance by adding the low pass filter to the input of the amplifier, since the while in my area the highest actively used RF channel is RF channel 36 in the VHF band (603-608 MHz), While the FCC has no other ATSC broadcasts at a higher frequency, I do have 2 other very strong transmissions in the 635-690MHz range, and the Philips Indoor HD TV Antenna Amplifier (an RF LNA), was amplifying those frequencies as well, thus attenuating those signals before reaching the amplifier, further improved the signals.PS, an additional RF low pass filter will not be needed for the vast majority of users, the only reason why it helped me, was because in the NYC coverage area, there are non-TV transmissions in the upper 600MHz range while in most other areas, you will often avoid encountering such transmissions until you reach the 700MHz range (where this amplifier mostly cuts off at). PS some older LNAs will amplify signals well into the 900MHz range which while not much of an issue in the past when the most you had you worry about in that range were cordless landline phones and pagers. Furthermore, older analog TVs were less prone to receiver overload, now those bands are being heavily used for more purposes, and thus the older amplifiers simply work too well for their own good in terms of the frequency range they will cover, especially with ATSC receivers being more prone to receiver overload.

Great for the cost . 1/2 the price of the Wineguard 200 and double the signal reception. Not all channels are received with great stability but definitely an improvement in my antenna reception. Recommend as a inexpensive resolution.

Just doesn't work like it's supposed to. We attached the amplifier to the antenna and plugged it all in to the TV. When we turned on the TV, there were only less than half of the channels we had without the amp. I bought the amp to clear up reception we had on some channels. I had no desire for more channels and was flabbergasted that we list so many with the amp. No star rating for this item. The reviews on the page for this item are for the antenna, not the amp. Geez.

It did not work as described. It's possible it is where I am located. It may work for you though.
