I connected my newly purchased Panasonic DP-UB9000 to my LG OLED55C1 HDTV. I previously played 4K Blu-rays via my PS5. The UB9000 has a very noticeable improvement in picture quality and clarity over the PS5, to my eyes. I will not be viewing Blu-rays anymore on my PS5.I like that I can use the dual HDMI outputs. One HDMI to HDTV, and the HDMI audio out to my older Yamaha HTR-6290 A/V Receiver. I can now enjoy the full power of my A/V Receiver. With no Digital Optical out on PS5, and no 4K pass through on my Receiver, I was previously stuck with Dolby Prologic audio output. Now I can enjoy Mastered sound when viewing my supported Blu-rays.I wish I purchased the UB9000 when it first came out. Brings so much life/detail to Blu-rays.The UB9000 is a beast, well worth it IMO.

I had a Sony UBP X800 that would jam and freeze up operation. Every time I watched a movie I would become anxious as to whether or not I'd be able to finish watching. I finally decided to try this Panasonic player. I have never owned a Panasonic before (always thinking it was an inferior brand...boy was I wrong). I have owned this player for a couple of weeks now and have not had any issues; not one single freeze up whatsoever. The build quality is excellent; almost as good as the Oppo players I own (I have at least 5). Word of warning, the player does get a little warm after a couple of hours of play. The region free part works well and is easy to do (I could never figure out the feature on the Sony). The seller (220 electronics) put a piece of paper inside the box explaining how to manipulate the switch between regions which has worked flawlessly so far (many thanks to them). In my opinion this player is well worth the triple price of the Sony.

It's quite a machine. Both video and audio have been outstanding after 30 hours or so of use.This player was a step into the dark for me, but the results have justified the gamble, and my wife concurs. Up conversion on our collection of British movie DVDs is excellent, particularly the audio. Comprehension of some of the thicker dialects, which vaguely resemble spoken English, can be a challenge at times. And, of course, 4K/Ultra HD is spectacular. Our previous player and TV, nominally 4K, weren't in the same league.Setup couldn't have been simpler, with the caveat that time spent in researching the myriad ways this thing can configured is well spent. There's a wealth of information available online, very helpful for amateurs like me.

Great player and very well built. Picture quality is hard to discern from it’s cheaper brother, the UB820, but sound quality is a definite step up, particularly through its analogue output. The remote control is also superior to the lower priced model, though it’s compatible with the 820 and reasonably priced, so is a worthwhile upgrade if you wanted to pick it up.For most people, the UB820 is going to be a better proposition, but for those that don’t mind paying extra for better build and slightly better performance, plus a few features you will likely not use, then this player won’t disappoint.
