I bought this after the first time I changed the oil filter on my 2013 Scion xD. I had a little difficulty getting the filter housing off with the tools I had. This tool is supposed to be made to fit the polygon of the housing as well as engage some protrusions that are on the housing. I haven't used it yet, I'll post an update next time I change the filter.

If you have a Toyota Corolla with a cartridge type filter and you do your own servicing you need this as it will make your life a lot better and easier.

I'm not a mechanic I just do some minor work on my own Vehicles will change those things like this so this device is perfect for me I don't know maybe a mechanic would rather something more Universal or Hardy but for your average consumer this is more than enough to use at least on a 2015 Toyota Prius

It took me 5-10 minutes to get it on because it fits pretty tight. Required tapping with a dead blow. Worked great once on. My housing was on really tight. Had to use a 1-1/16 socket on the back of this to get the housing to break loose (I think the correct size might be 27mm, but this worked). The 3/8 square drive wasn’t strong enough. It kept slipping out.Once everything was back together and torqued down, I couldn’t get the thing to come off. I ended up attaching my ratchet to the square drive hole and levering it until I got a gap large enough to get a tire iron into. Took maybe 20 minutes.But at the end of the day, my oil filter housing looks perfectly new. No damage at all. That’s more than can be said for a lot of other brands of this tool.This one is also aluminum for anyone who cares.

First time I used this wrench, it broke. The metal is weak and brittle. When I put pressure on it to loosen the filter cap, the wrench broke apart. Unfortunately I'm past the return period. Never again. Do not buy this item.
