This winter jacket absolutely exceeded my expectations! My husband is 6 ft 2 too, 185 lb but is really slender. He has a hard time with jackets because usually he needs to get a large but a medium would fit his build better giving the slender nature of it. I took a risk and ordered a large hoping that this would be different and it absolutely was! The jacket fits beautifully, just enough room to fit a sweater underneath if he wanted to, but the goose down makes it so that he doesn't need to! He loves collar that zips up and even more, the hood perfectly fits his head without being too roomy and letting wind in.We have an ATV and love going riding in the fall and winter. We live in Southern Ontario out up in Canada and it gets pretty cold even in the fall here. He was able to wear this jacket on the last ride he went on with my daughter and not a single lick of wind got through! He was beyond impressed with how windproof it was and how warm it kept him.The jacket provides great movement, isn't stiff or tight and is exceptionally comfortable to wear in a car, where he typically finds he wants to take his jacket off while driving because of how bulky they usually are, but this one he can keep on for the whole two hour drive into the city. He doesn't overheat in it, but if it gets chilly it definitely provides the warmth he needs.This jacket is a huge win in my eyes.

4.5 stars!I ordered the Northern Sun Men's Down Jacket to replace one of the old companion jackets that followed me everywhere for the past ten years. The result was great. I was a bit hesitant to order a jacket online without trying it on first, but I wasn't disappointed after I received it. The craftsmanship is top-notch, with a fabulous stitching job on both inside and outside. The pockets are deep on both sides and the zippers used are high-quality ones with smooth opening and closing. The outside shell repelled the rain nicely and the down on the inside keeps me warm in our cold autumn mornings.Thanks to its pretty accurate size chart, the M fits me very well in terms of the overall length and width. However, the chest portion (especially the armpit) seems a bit tighter than I like. My body is not an athletic build, to be fairly honest, and I also have a small belly. The overall design is quite similar to the well-known brands but less stretchable I find.Overall, it is a wonderful jacket at a reasonable price; there are a few nitpicks that I wish to see in the next version:-A chest pocket with a zipper or a hidden media pocket on the inside for my phone or other small gadgets.-A more stretchable armpit.-A slightly larger hood so I can fit my bike helmet.-Reflective stripes on the jacket for safety purposes in the dark.-Make this jacket pocketable, it already has all the great attributes already.

I've been looking for a jacket to bridge the gap between summer and winter, and I finally found one that fits the bill.For reference, I'm in my mid-50s, 5'7", and weigh 167 lbs. It's quite slim and long, but it feels great. It is tight in the shoulders, and I am of average build. I might have gotten away with a large, but it might have been too long overall.The material, stitching, and insulation are excellent. No matter what combination of clothing I pair it with, it looks really good. I like this jacket. It's warm, keeps the wind off, and is comfortable without being too hot. It has plenty of pockets and is one of the more comfortable jackets I've tried. I especially appreciate the hood and additional insulation. While this type of jacket comes in a range of prices, this one is on the higher end. However, it is well-made and comfortable.

The northern Sun Down Puffer Jacket for Men is made with exceptional quality.The filling is real feathers rather than polyester.I found the M to be smaller than I would like, particularly for a winter jacket that will be worn over sweaters.The puffer description led me to believe the jacket would be thicker and puffier than it actually is.It will be fine for winter in the south, but probably not thick enough for a northern winter where it gets really cold.Nice that it is really waterproof. A good jacket for cold rainy days too. The hood fits very well.Nice jacket. $250 seems a bit expensive to me.

This is a really nice lightweight but warm jacket. It's only gone down to the freezing point so far, but this coat provides a solid barrier to the wind and keeps your warmth inside. The design of the hood is really functional and keeps the cold from getting in to your neck and ears. It is the weight of a fall jacket, but does provide a lot more warmth. It's small enough to pack into a bag as well, and it doesn't show any sign of wrinkles. This is a really nice coat offering protection from the cold and wet and the slim fit looks really nice on. I'm really happy with this.
