I got this item to use it with the flash insert on a Sealife underwater camera. It's a very well made and solid item, works better than expected and won't move once it's tight enough. I recommend it if you want to use it with anything GoPro compatible.

So I needed a solution to setup my GoPro on my DSLR. This not only is perfect for that, the build quality is exactly what I was hoping for, actually better, it's not cheap plastic, this is solid, and the price is well worth it, great build quality. I see they mention this but I never noticed this but this product also has 1/4" thread below so I can also use this on a tripod, which is an excellent bonus. This company NICEYRIG... it's on my radar now because of this. If all their products are of this build quality I'm certainly interested. I told some friends about this and I'm here to write a review on it too. 5/5 isn't enough, this surpassed my expectations.

I purchased this adapter for its capability to attach a GoPro to the top of a DSLR. Attaching the GoPro is extremely difficult as the attachments are too thick, once I got it on (by a miracle) it was very hard to remove and I was worried about breaking the GoPro’s attachment. In the end I had to buy a small file set and file down the adapter attachments so the GoPro fit more easily without the fear of breaking it.Would I recommend it? Yes, because it does do what it’s advertised to do BUT you will need to file down the adapter GoPro attachment.

Works perfect on all my tripods. I purchased it to use with the Osmo action 5 camera. Quality is better than some of the others I’ve seen.

Great idea and mostly fine in practice, but occasionally I need it at an angle where if the weight is not perfectly centered, it will pan down via gravity, especially on something bumpy/in motion like a bike, car, boat.... I wish there was a way to lock the pan rotation all the way down. With the tilt (standard GoPro mount design), you can keep twisting until it's completely locked and won't be loosened unless you apply some strong torque.

I had a cheaper gopro mount break on use 1, so I ordered a few different ones. Just got this, and it feels like machined aluminum, I'm sure it's still an inexpensive alloy, but feels better than whatever the last one was. I suspect it will do well, so I immediately ordered another for my dive buddy.Nice feel, plenty of room to get on the housing cold shoe, and a rubber pad built in to help keep it snug. I'll update if I discover anything contrary, but for a few bucks, definitely feels good on first impressions
