Pros:String kit is easy to install, it comes with plastic zip ties to secure the LED wire to the splines of the patio umbrella, for my application I installed it underneath my patio's retractable awning instead.The wires have a clear jacket so they look discrete when not in use and their length is plenty sufficient for my needs.The battery compartment uses 4 AA batteries which are common and inexpensive and the battery door has a water tight seal.The brightness of the LED lights are very bright even when tested in the daytime, at night I need to use the dimmer function to lower it down as it could get blinding when looking straight at it.I like that the lights have a wide variety of different lighting patterns and it looks very cool in a dark environment.The remote controls all of the devices functions and there are preset buttons available.The app can also be used to customize colours and effects however I did not find the need to use it.At time of review, the cost of this product offers a good value ($30)Cons:When first turned on via the power switch on the battery housing, the default pattern runs at full speed and can be headache inducing. Also there is no way to control the lighting effects without the reliance on the remote control or app. If it ever gets lost I wont be able to control any of the functions without relying on installing the smart app.The kit also did not come with double sided mounting clips in the event that I wanted to run the wires along a solid surface.

These non-rechargeable 3 x AAA battery powered LED Umbrella Lights ( see photo ) are designed to attach to the spreaders on the underside of a large sunshade umbrella. Using the supplied zip-ties, I successfully attached them to my cantilevered umbrella, and am very pleased with the versatility of the lighting options made available with the infrared remote control ( see photo ) and especially the DIY dynamic mode adjustments available in the “Surplife” App.The Lights feature; 8 x 4.3 foot long LED strips each individually controllable in the App; RGB + IC dynamic lighting-animation effects; adjustable speed, brightness, four memory storage buttons; time-off after 30 or 60 minutes; and a built-in Mic to enable lighting changes in sync with nearby sound/music. The 3 user-supplied AAA batteries in the IP67-rated waterproof housing should keep the light show operating for up to 24 hours before needing to swap them out. Recommended.

Great, other than too fast! I feel bad giving it four stars, but it really is way too flashy on most of the settings. Who wants their lights to flash so fast? I really don’t get it. Can people who make these lights take note, flashing is fine but not 1 million flashes a second please, thank you. Other than that, it’s great if you have it on the solid colors, there is one multicoloured level that is kind of slow enough to be able to look at, but most of them are unusable. The quality of the light is wonderful. It seemed waterproof and like it would last. Take it as you will.

somedays a really miss the lack of apps in out lives. everything needs a darn app these days. i only have so much room on my phone.i do not want to add another app.thankfully there is a remote.

Looking forward to getting this out on the deck when the snow melts. I love the control over the lights, the different effects and colors. This works with phone or remote control.
