Got this for my rental apartment, just wanted to feel a little safer. It's pretty good, really cheap, came with all the parts, very easy to install. Got nothing constructive to say beyond that. Super glad I got this!

It's great for additional security. We installed one at the back entrance and one for laundry access to prevent our kids from getting out or getting into laundry room on their own. Works fine. They are not super strong but our kids cannot break or open them so that is all we needed and it works.

I upgraded the rating because Amazon customer service overrode the sellers return policy and gave me a full refund.Just a warning to everyone. This product in non returnable. The product did not fit our requirements and we are now unable to return it. Money down the drain. In all the years buying on Amazon, I have never had this happen. I'd give 0 stars but that is not possible.

Eight months after purchase, a member of the family tried to open the door from outside, while the chain was on, and the first link from the smaller bracket broke.

Sturdy and nice to look at. Thought chain was a little too long initially- but I just moved the placement across a bit and is perfect now.

Complete rubbish!!!!!!!!Not only would they not stop a thief, they don't even stop my wife and son when the open the door with the catch still in place.I bought 5 of these:The first the rivet holding the chain in place broke off.On the second it is all bent and distorted, where 2 of the screws sheared off,and WORST OF ALL, on two others, severe damage to the woodwork on the door frames where the wood split.All of this damage from mild opening of the doors.Not only would I NOT buy these again, and I'm out of pocket by the cost of 5 of them, but I have maybe $200 of damage to my door frames!

I live in an apartment complex and wanted some added security, when my wife and I are home, mainly when sleeping. Something about the maintenance guys, property manager, etc. having a key to get in makes me want to take an added measure. Some of the reviews said it could be easily broken, I have no idea what they are talking about. I grabbed the package it came and was immediately impressed by how much it weighs! If this is properly installed on the door, and preferably on a stud around the door frame, it is SOLID. I mean, this chain isn't a little flimsy chain, a lot thicker than I expected. The whole thing is very well made, a nice weight to it, fits in the slider perfectly, very secure when screwed in properly. and is incredibly cheap!P.S. - Drop a comment down below with any questions.
