Easy to install, cut one side of the flange back with some snips, placed in the opening for my downspout, and hung the chain on the removable shaft on the bottom. Took almost no time at all, it will make hanging and removing my rain chain each fall and spring much easier.

Doesn’t have a cheap feel to it. I put ours over an existing opening and so there was water escaping underneath. A little silicone fixed that and it works great.

This unit does essentially what it's designed to do. But ... beware! the water doesn't funnel as you might expect or even hope. The water drops through a nearly 2" hole meaning the water drops randomly and without any order. Having a chain attached is useless as this unit doesn't force the water to the chain. So, if you choose to buy this, make sure you have set up a collector of the water to cover the gap so that you can better control the water flow as you require. Otherwise, you're in for quite a splashy wet mess. This is what I'm currently experiencing for sure. I rated this a 3 due to the product is as advertised this that end, installs easily, and the delivery was as promised. But beware of the effects of it use.

Thank you, Amazon for providing accurate gutter adapter dimensions. Manufacturer assumes that the installation of the gutter adapter is replacing downspout outlet and does not provide any dimensions or installation instructions related to modifying a gutter for installing the gutter adapter. Our installation of a rain chain was a new outlet in a 5" steel gutter. For installing in a 5in gutter the provided base plate needs 1/4" of flange remove to sit flush. A 2" bimetal hole saw is required to cut the proper diameter thru hole in the gutter. Not only using sealant calk, but I also recommend adding 4, 1/8" dia x 1/4"L rivets to secure the adapter base plate then sealing the rivets. The combined weight of the adapter assembly and 8 1/2' chain is not excessive. If installing greater than 48" away the nearest gutter hanger an additional hanger should be installed adjacent to the desired outlet location for supporting the gutter. This install is a more aesthetically appealing than a downspout at the front door of our home.
