If you like the M12 version you will LOVE this one as well. This work light improves on the but also adds some negatives. Cheapest price around now (~$81).Pros over M12:- You can change the angle of the light tilting it downwards or upwards. Useful if you don't want to move the light around and plan to stay stationary during the work period. Lighting the right spot means you can free up a hand to do what you got to do. A big help over the M12!! Basically, this is the reason why I bought this after first having the M12. Both give quality and even light distribution and no hot spots. LIGHT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT POWER TOOL. *Tangent*- 'Ever since man learned to harness the power of fire he has sought to separate and improve on the positive attributes it provides; heat and light. Heat wasn't always needed during the hunter gatherer days, but lighting on demand has always been needed throughout the building of human civilization. Despite all of our advances in technology, we still manage to falter in our efforts by evaluating the situation and our work at hand poorly. Humans have 5 senses. In remodeling and construction, sight is used 99% of the time as a method of diagnosis.'- It can hang with a XC pack with the additional hook in the handle. Both are great for kitchen sinks and scary-dark-small-hidden areas.- 2 light settings. I've found the half brightness setting to be good for working on things pointed downward like when I clean my dog's ears or teeth dentist style. Or perhaps reading.- You get even more runtime especially when using half brightness so you don't have to keep swapping batteries like w/ the M12 when you're working for long periods.- Built solid. Very sturdy feeling. The tilt adjust feels firm and is hard to accidentally change the angle. Hooks feel sturdy.Cons or M12 advantage:- It's about 2 lbs! The M12 is about 1 lb.- No magnet option (the M12 has an optional magnet- it's very expensive but well worth it because it will stick like glue) So I can't slap it to a metal pole and light up a cubby.- Not as portable. Way big. Sometimes at night I use the M12 to spray insecticide and hunt for insects holding a 1 gallon pump sprayer. Hint: Insects are more active at night. Good for ant hunting. The M12 works better because of the light weight.- It is brighter but not by much on the high setting than the M12. It looks like they use the same housing for the LEDs.- Both are good for lighting up engine bay but are so so when pointed directly at an inspection mirror when looking into a tight area. The is good for that and spot lighting areas. The inspection lights shine at their best when pointed head on. There effectiveness dwindles at farther distances and I recommend the M18 led work light for that. It creates a very evenly lit circle, though the hot spot is very subtle.Final thoughts:Even though Milwaukee has the most innovative and extensive 12 volt line up, they still manage to save some of the best features for the 18 volt line up. I guess that's why they have the dual voltage chargers. Why sell you one tool when they can sell you two; one from each line up. If you're stuck in between the M12 and M18 version I'd say get both. However, if I only had one I would go for the M18 because of the increased utility in its design.

This light is very bright and has a great run time being a mechanic my self I bought a milwaukee 1/2" impact and it came with 2 batteries so I bought the light as a bare tool and this little light is amazing it has many different ways to hang so you can light up virtually anything and it has a high and low setting which is good for tight spaces where too much light does you no good
