Used this jig to build a set of built-in cabinets and drawers in 3/4 plywood. Combined with the kreg clamp and some custom setup jigs out of scrap wood, this system saved me a lot of time compared to previous projects. The kreg hardware is worth it if you're not doing high volumes of work, though I can see it getting expensive if you're building lots and lots of cabinetry. For home projects where I am my own customer, however, I don't mind spending a bit extra on cabinets I plan to use daily for the next 20+ years.

I really wanted to be disappointed at another gimmicky tool. I also really expected to regret buying this version, rather than the cheaper forms of pocket hole jigs on amazon. The kit arrived in a sturdy blowmolded box to hold all the parts, and included instructions, as well as a half dozen pocket screws for testing. The box is engineered to help you adjust the depth collet to the size of wood you're drilling, and the instructions explain the wood thickness snap-tab settings on the jig. Setup is very fast, and everything stays in place perfectly well. The drill bit is long and sharp, and the kit includes a Robertson (square) bit for good driving of the included screws. The Kreg Face Clamp snaps into the plate for easy shifting along a board without dropping pieces all over the ground.I am impressed. Very, very, impressed. This is a really well made, and useful tool, worth every penny in saved time and convenience.

Here is the deal. The Jig is 5 stars. It is perfect in doing what is supposed to. That said, if given the choice I will NOT buy it again. Reasons:Kreg Pocket-Hole Jig 320 offer more versatility. I find myself constantly drilling one hole and then moving it over to drill the second hold so as to provide better support/leverage on wider pieces where they are not wide enough to justify 4 holes but not small enough to have 2 screws so close together. In other words, I use it more like MKJKIT more often than not.Even as a hobby woodworker, as I said before, I would buy Jig 320 or K5 now that I have used this one, and realised on how pocket holes can be so handy. K5 is expensive but the built clamps are well worth it. I reckon based on my experience with this Jig, I would skip K4 just as well also..when you consider the overall price difference. I spent lot of time reviewing different jigs and their feedback, however I should have put more thought into this issue. As far as this jig is concerned, it has been working flawlessly. I have had no issues with the drill bit being misaligned or anything like that. I am sure I will buy K5 or similar in future. Finally, please let me know if this was helpful. Just wondering if there are similar hobby woodworkers who find themselves in similar situation.Best Regards,
Frank

This tool is easy to use and the drill bit is razor sharp. However not 5 stars because of the thin grey plastic parts. They bend when you take them out and therefore the guide is hard to install for 1 - 1/2 inch thick wood. Would recommend for thinner than 1-1/4 inch.

This tool is obviously under priced for its value/utility.The tool comes with everything needed to make a couple of test joints. You will need to buy more screws eventually.Setup and adjustments are a cinch. After 30 years of building anything you can imagine with wood.I finally bought this tool.I should have done so earlier.I highly recommend this tool.

If you like building things, this is really a must-have for your various joinery needs. Although they have a variety of levels of these pocket hole jigs, I find the price point of this one works best for me as a DIYer. I've been using my kit for about 4 years now, and recently gifted one to someone else, and it's held up fantastic. Tip: don't bother with the expensive Kreg screws.. you can get common size washer head screws from most hardware stores that are just a "store brand" for much cheaper than Kreg. I only buy Kreg branded ones when I need lengths or thread types that I can't find in hardware store brand equivalents.

It is as easy to use as seen in demonstration videos. Highly recommend if you're doing basic projects. comes with a few different size screws to get used to which ones you might need more of. Booklet also gives guidance on how to set depth, and which screws to use it for. Note: it's the actual measured length it goes by. Not the 'advertised' numbers which are higher than actual. It does help to have an additional clamp (in addition to the Kreg one to stabl) to stabilize the piece of wood you're screwing and work station/bench/saw horse too. I would recommend getting this with the Kreg Clamp as I can't imagine trying to use a regular clamp as efficiently or precisely. I thought of getting the more expensive one but I'm not hardcore so this one suits fine for basic projects.

For a Kreg positioning itself as an upscale brand, sending a set without a locking screw on the drill cover = two stars off the overall rating. I got some spare screws so choose to just use it and not waist time exchanging/returning.Functionally it is a good set:1) There is a useful table for choosing the right screws and setting the tool depending on the thickness of materials used;2) There's an easy-to-use collar setting scale in the box3) It is straightforward to adjust the depth of the tool4) It clamps nicely with a regular c-clamp (no need for an expensive Kreg clamp)5) It came with few screws so ready to work right away (assuming you have a screw to fix the collar on the drill bit)I love the fact that Kreg screws are regular S2-type, making it easy to use widely available bits.

This is my first pocket hole jig so I may not give the best review with no reference. But for me this is great because I just follow the instruction and then everything was like falling into place. I love the experience in using this jig

I have been using Kreg jigs for many years now, and have this item's predecessor. While I could not live without it, a few things always bugged me - and they all got fixed in this version. It was enough that purchasing it was a no-brainer.The biggest improvement is the built-in offset lip with markings for all typical lumber sizes. In the old one I had to actually screw the lip that is used to align to the edge of the board on using two screws - and if I was using 2x material, add a spacer using different size screws - and if I was using anything else I had to measure and line it up manually. Good if I was doing a lot of boards, but a real pain for one or two and worse if I was switching back and forth! With this new model, just press in on the tab and slide the gray guide forward until it snaps into place at the mark for the size board I am using.Second, with the lip in place, the Kreg clamp I was using was trapped in the jig and if I wanted to use it for something else, or just put it away, I had to unscrew the lip. Done away with in the new model, there is a spot sized for the clamp that is proud of the jig. Very easy.Third, this comes in a nice little case that holds everything but the clamp. My other was part of a set of Kreg jigs so when I wanted to throw it into the toolbag to go to a work site, I had to put all the parts in, and some would eventually go missing. Now I can put the case into the toolbag, very handy.Fourth, the jig from the old set that showed where to set the drill stop required me to lift the drill out of it in order to get the stop on, and of course it would sometimes slip when I tightened it so I have to recheck and sometimes adjust. Honestly it was such a pain that I got an extra bit and stop just so I could leave one set for 3/4" material and one for 2x material. In the new model the jig is part of the case AND holds the bit at each end, leaving space for the stop so I can tighten it without moving the bit.Clearly Kreg is listening to their customers and making very handy and sensible improvements while maintaining their high quality. Like I said, buying this one even though the old one still works was a no-brainer. Now I'll just set up the old one for 2x material and leave it.
