Make Prefolds Waterproof
Prefolds are 100% absorbent. A Kanga Care cloth diaper cover is needed on the exterior to make them waterproof so they do not leak on your child's clothes.
Natural fibers need prepped for max absorbency
Prefolds should be prepped before fist use:
- Wash 5X in hot water (no detergent) with a cold rinse, tumble dry medium.
- The hot wash/tumble dry high prepping will shrink diapers to their appropriate size and "sponge up" the material for maximum absorbency. Expect a 5-10% shrink.
- Prefolds can be used after 3 rounds of wash/dry prepping, but will be at their maximum absorbency after 8-10 cycles.
- Prefolds need a cover! Use with Rumparooz One Size or Newborn Diaper Cover.
Three Ways To Fold A Prefold
Angel Wing fold
Basic fold, great for any age.
- Fold Prefold in thirds
- Fold up the front of Prefold
- Spread out the back folds
- Pull wings around and fasten with a Snappi or pin
- Place Kanga Care Cover over Prefold
Jelly Roll Fold
Great for runny poop, newborns and infants but will work well at any age.
- Roll sides of Prefold in
- Fold up the bottom half
- Pull sides around to front and fasten with Snappi or pin.
- Place Kanga Care Cover over prefold
Newspaper Fold
Great for boys, or for use at night, due to the extra layer of absorbency in the front.
- Fold a small flap up from bottom of Prefold
- Fold Prefold into thirds
- Spread back the wings
- Pull sides around and fasten with Snappi or pin.
- Place Kanga Care Cover over Prefold
Does not fit the cage that it is supposed to fit!

I did return these only because I decided to go with inserts and pocket diapers. But I will say if I decide to switch, these will be the ones I get because they're so soft but you can tell the absorbancy is great and they're easy to work with! Quality is a 5 star for me, I can't say anything about leakage as I didn't use them but they seemed like they'd be great.

I use these as drool cloths for my daughter with special needs. They work well and are super absorbent after a few washes. Also love how big they are.When I cloth diapered these would have been great.

I've used these for a few months now. I fold them and put them inside a pocket. They have shrunk an unreasonable amount! I understand some shrinking but they're less than half the size now. They'd never work as anything but an insert. I put it beside a standard sized insert for comparison.
