It's hard to decide where to start with this stopper. I bought this thinking it was just a regular drain stopper, but boy was I wrong. First off it performs it's job of stopping water from leaving your sink like a dream. It definitely will not act as a sieve for any chunks of food you don't want going down the drain as it is a solid metal disk.Now into the extras. My neighbor has a large, unnecessarily loud truck in which he enjoys cruising around the neighborhood in late at night. I became exhausted of listening to the earth shaking rumble of the truck whilst trying to sleep. I decided to try and plug up his exhaust pipe to muffle the sound. Lo and behold this drain plug was the perfect fit and that night I got the best sleep in a long time. Unfortunately the exhaust being plugged ended up pushing the exhaust fumes into the can of the truck and my neighbor got exhaust poisoning. He was in the hospital for a while, but he's out now. While he will be on oxygen for the rest of his life we still like to laugh about the whole thing.I also have come to the conclusion that this drain stopper might be made by extraterrestrials or part of a government conspiracy. Sometimes I'll be milling around the old homestead and be listening to the sounds of yesteryear on the old Victrola radio and I'll notice some strange noise patterns will begin to play out of it. I thought it was just interference at first, but the patterns are very distinct. This only happens when I had this rubber stopper near the radio. I know it is the cause because I literally put the ratio in an empty room and walked in butt naked holding only this stopper and the radio interference continued. My neighbors across the street were pretty upset about that though, as the room I tested this in faces their house and I don't have curtains in it. I can't see why they would be so upset though, I think everything down there looks quite healthy and is fairly impressive if you ask me.

Beware of "Exact Replacement for InSinkErator STP-PL/STPPL Black Rubber Sink Stopper for Garbage Disposal – Compatible with Standard 3-1/2" Drains from Kohler, Waste King, Whirlpool, and More." They leak and don't fit Insinkerator. This stopper works well and doesn't cost $30 like the stainless steel ones. It's good Amazon carries this stopper as none of the big box stores in my city had it.

after having our disposal installed, it didn't take long for small items to slide down the opening. I quickly ordered this before something could slide down un-noticed causing potential issues. Openings are large enough to allow water and small food residue to drain easily while blocking items that could damage or be damaged by the disposal. My only (very minor) complaint, is that the locking mechanism for "open" vs "closed" isn't very strong and often it slides to the "closed" position by itself, allowing the sink to fill when I don't want it to - certainly not a major issue.

I have an Insinkerator garburator that came with our home. The plug that was with it never worked. I replaced my sink and ordered a new quick lock mounting flange (great) and ordered this to plug the sink. The sink finally works when plugged. Meaning it doesn't drain water within minutes. Love the product line.

This stopper took a very long time to come and was much later than the expected date. That I can understand with all the delays in the mail. However when it arrived it was not the the one that I ordered for my Mainline garburator and is too large. This stopper is for a sink drain and which is larger than my garburator requires.

This fit down perfectly into the garbage disposal side and when pushed down gave a good seal to keep water from leaking out. Great replacement for my original.

I ordered the polished brass and received a black plastic. Maxwarehouse said that they cannot ensure a color selection. So even though you pick your color and pay accordingly, they will evidently send you whatever they want. Be ware!

You need it so got to have it. There are cheaper compatible versions available that look the same but i didn't take the risk
