The switches work and feel solid enough, the power LED can be usful for certain applications. I would have liked to see some better strain relief for the wires.

Wiring is good but the switch mechanisms suck.

Nice high quality switches. Easy to assemble with nice internal hardware. A real bargain for the price.

My mother inlaw had a candle light for xmass and she had to unplug it to turn it off. I put one of these switches inline and she said its so nice not having to bend over to unplug the light. Easy to install, solid construction and looks good when installed.

This review is for the black switch. To clarify some contradictory info in the Customer Q&A section:-- The black switch does NOT have an LED (in my case good)-- The back of the switch is bowed, not flat -- yet, I've had no problem with it sitting upright and flat on a surface such as a night stand, desk, or even sofa arm.I ordered a bunch of other in-line lamp switches, and these are the only ones I kept. Here's why:-- HOUSING --The 2 housing pieces are screwed together with 4 screws, instead of just snapping together permanently. This means the switch can be disassembled, re-seated, removed, or reused. Because of the screws, the housing also clamps the housing together much stronger -- you'll need this if the plastic sleeve of the lamp wire is slightly hard or slightly/thicker over-sized for the hole at each end of the switch (which happened with 2 of my lamps, all low-current devices rated for 60 watt or less bulbs, so I'm not talking about heavy gauge wire -- just a plumper sheath).-- WIRE TERMINALS --The wire terminals also have screws. This assured a tight fit and the wire can be re-seated or redone with ease, and easily adjusts to different gauges. Not necessarily the case with crimp or snap terminals.--TACTILE FEEL--These switches just feel nice to hold and use. The shape is sculpted instead of being bland and rectangular. The varying matte/smooth finish feels nice. For my application, all of these features made this switch feel higher quality in every way than others I tried. Glad I found them and would expect no problems going forward unless the actual rocker switch mechanism develops problems, in which case I'll update this review.

I used three of these to replace the cheap rotary cord switches that were on my lamps. These are easier to use and look nicer too.Oddly, the package says 10A 250V but the switches themselves are labeled 2A 250V. The switch contacts look big enough to handle more than 2 amps but it didn't matter to me because I only needed 1 amp, maximum. The switches are labeled as complying with the EN/EC (European) safety certification, which is slightly more strict than the safety certifications here in North America. These are double-pole switches that disconnect both wires when they are off, so they are safer with respect to electrical shock hazard.Wire connection is easy via screw terminals. The terminals are big enough for #14 wire. If your lamp cord is #18 or smaller, you have to fold-over the wire ends and then put them in the terminals to get the screws to clamp tightly onto the wire.Once installed, the switch has a nice solid feel with a strong click.
