Internal slots hold the 25 x 75mm (1 x 3") microscope slides (sold separately) in place and a top-hinged lid with a nickel-plated clasp keep the slides secure. Be careful when you order this product! The pictures are misleading, I bought the 50 slide box but the picture was for 25 so I expected the same box just longer, well this is pretty much what I got but I couldn't tell from the picture that the lid is detached (no hinge) and my box came with a little plastic "lock" which is pretty useless, the lid will open accidentally so you'll have to secure it with a rubber band.The cork lining looks like it was cut by a 5 year old in a foggy Chinese work shop.I will make it work because I need it and don't want to wait for replacement but from the looks of the box it should cost no more than $3.50

Very poor quality. Lid slipped on and off too easily. Box appeared to be made to have hinges and a clasp. It had holes for hinges but no hinges. It had a front clasp of sorts, but it didn't attach to anything. For approximately the same price you can get a slide box that is properly finished and secure.
