Pretty easy install but was not without challenges (unrelated to the wiring harness). Be prepared for something to break. The plastic gets brittle over 20+ years. One of the removal tabs and one of the garage door opener cover hinges both broke on mine. Watch for the broken pieces as you remove your overhead console. I was able to repair them using the ultraviolet light-cured plastic. Removing the old harness is a little challenging. The bulb sockets are held in place by a ridge that prevents them from coming out except with some prying and manipulating. The spring-button light switches are also held in by the pressure of the slide channel into which they fit. I had to route my wires from the display a little differently than the stock one ran, because the replacement was slightly shorter. The connector in that display was a little 'tricky' too. Steps for console removal: press the two tabs (inside garage door opener lid) forward. Pull the front of console slightly down. Slide the whole console FORWARD to disengage the two plastic 'clips' in the back above the sunglass storage. Note: this is counter intuitive. You would normally expect the console to move backward to release. Reverse the process to reinstall. Removal and install time about 30 minutes (not including plastic repairs).

I have a '99 Dodge Ram 2500 QC with the factory overhead console. This fixes the broken map light switches with a factory part. Excellent quality.
