Anybody who closes their front load washing machine doors (or dishwasher) when not being used is going to have an odour problem. Water that sits has a high tendency to encourage mould growth, especially where dirt or food is introduced to the water. If you allow air movement, drying is encouraged and allowed, preventing odour development. If you close the doors this inhibits drying and encourages bacterial growth. So do whatever you can to allow air movement. With these appliances this is as simple as propping the door open slightly when not being used. We've used a cloth to prop the doors open for years and have zero smell in our appliances. Any time we travel and open a machine that has not been propped open, WOW, how can people not smell that? Don't blame the device, blame your own actions or lack of knowledge. This little door prop does exactly what it is designed for, is adjustable for any appliance made of magnetic metal, and is fancier and more elegant than a cloth. We mount ours on the side of our washing machine so it simply rotates in place or out of place, and doesn't even have to be removed between uses. The magnet has a very strong hold, and is covered by the silicone material so prevents any scratches to your appliance. Highly recommend this item and the seller based on my experience.
