It's great for breaking small ice ( I have not used this for weeding / soft surfaces ) but I had problems keeping the blade secure at the end of the handle. Anything similar to light blunt force would cause the head to slip down the handle. A little frustrating to have to push it back during use. Maybe not suitable for ice but better suited to light garden duties.

This is a one piece heavy duty forged steel head. No cheap welded-on blades like some. It comes disassembled and you just drop the head down the handle and give it a good tap. The handle is just a bit too long beyond the top of the head by about 1 1/2 inches which can hang you up on roots etc. you may need to take a grinder or hacksaw to it to make it flush.It’s also fairly dull when you first get it, just take a file to the edges, no big deal. My only real gripe is I wish it had slightly wider and longer blades.This is a great tool and very sturdy, you won’t bend this one.

J'ai acheté cette petite pioche pour des petits travaux de jardinage, pour ne pas avoir à sortir la grosse pioche hache. Elle est petite et légère (même si au bout d'une heure de travaux on la sens beaucoup plus lourde), très maniable !Je m'en sers pour couper des petites racines, surtout aux bords des murs où c'est plus difficile d'accès avec des gros outils.J'en suis pour l'instant satisfaite.

Smaller than expected so I've since picked up a full size one too; but this is my go-to-tool for most gardening jobs. Really tough for all but the biggest tasks and allows enough control to go rooting around in places where you may have to watch out for pipes or cables (urr unlike the large one, but that was my fault).
