So this rather large cat door works quite well, though the door has taken some time to loosen up. My cats were all used to cat doors at our last house, so training them to use it wasn't any issue. The big thing about is that it's so thick it sticks out and is kinda ugly with our two panel door due to the overlap. We're currently mid-move, and I hope to install it on our new bedroom door, it has a single panel, so I'm hoping that it won't stick out too much and that the cats won't mind it being a bit higher off the ground so it's all inside a singe panel.

This was fairly easy to install on a hollow core interior door. I found the template mostly superfluous, as I just squared up the actual frame on the door and marked the screw holes and cut line with that, remembering to cut a little bit proud on the line. After that , it was just a matter of screwing it together. I find that the cat flap is a little tight to open, but I expect that will work itself out over time. I do recommend using a little bit of glue to install the end caps on the screws, as they don't fit the openings tightly.Now I just need to figure out how to teach the cat to use this thing.
