They are also more effective on harder materials. High-speed steel tools are good for most general purpose applications, offering a combination of hardness and toughness for wear resistance. Round shanks allow use with a wide variety of tool holding systems. Through-hole flute style has a single flute that passes through the cutting head to reduce vibration and chip clogging; also called "zero flute".

I used this to countersink 40 holes on some fairly hard stainless steel plates. It got through all 40 holes and appears to still be sharp enough to keep using.There was some chatter once you get to the maximum width of the bit but if you take it slow and use even pressure you can get a pretty clean cut with this.

Used this bit DEWSFC3/8-90 3/8"-90 working to build some oak furniture, the bit worked flawlessly, very sharp and made very good countersunk holes !!!!!!!!!!!!

Item does as described it's a countersink I do a lot of countersink work at work with various metals and this countersink comes in handy

Item was exactly as described. I read one negative review, but discounted it because the person said they didn't get what they ordered, but never said what they received. The only thing I could think is that they wanted a countersink for a 1/2 inch screw. This one has a 1/2 inch body which will only be good for a screw that has a major head diameter of 1/2 inch or less. Also, most American screws use an 82 degree angle, not a 100 degree angle. I was very happy with my purchase.

Great 60 degree counter sinking bit. The bit is much bigger then expected, but still works great for counter sinking .158 and .200” holes in 416 stainless steel.
