Worked very well to make ⅜ in. hardwood dowels out of teak. Trick is to use table saw to get wood as close to desired size before sending through cutter.

This dowel maker jig kit is very robust. The workmanship is beautiful. To select the size of the dowel that you want to make is very easy. One of the issues is that there are no instructions included in the package. Using it seems intuitive, but the results I am getting are not acceptable. The surface finish of the dowel is very rough after passing thru the jig. I might be doing something wrong, but with the lack of instructions is hard to understand how to use the jig to produce good result. Quality 5/5. One star less for the lack of information and the quality of the dowels.

This dowel making kit is great. Nice, organized kit makes it easy to find the size you want. Nice when you want to use dowels in your woodworking projects.
